Exciting News for Xbox Game Pass Ultimate Subscribers: Stream Your Own Games
Microsoft has taken a major step forward in enhancing the Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscription by expanding its cloud-based streaming capabilities. Previously, streaming was limited to titles within the Game Pass library; however, as teased by Phil Spencer earlier this year, Xbox players can now stream select games from their personal libraries.
According to Ashley McKissick, the Corporate Vice President of Xbox Experiences and Platforms Engineering, “Starting today, I’m excited to announce that we’re allowing Game Pass Ultimate members to stream select games they own through TVs and browser on supported devices like smartphones, PCs, and tablets.”This is a significant upgrade for gamers looking to access their favorites on various platforms.

Streaming Gameplay Across Multiple Devices
This newly introduced “Stream Your Own Game” feature will be accessible through Xbox Cloud Gaming via compatible web browsers. It will also be available on select smart TVs and Meta’s VR headsets. Note that to use this functionality, an Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscription is required.
Global Availability and Future Plans
This exciting streaming support is being launched today across all 28 regions where Xbox Cloud Gaming (Beta) is currently available. However, it is worth noting that Xbox consoles and the Xbox application on Windows are not included in this initial rollout. Microsoft has announced plans to extend this functionality to those platforms in 2025.
