Exciting Updates for Xbox Cloud Gaming
Microsoft has rolled out another significant update for Xbox this February, which includes a standout feature in the Xbox Cloud Gaming beta. This enhancement particularly benefits Xbox Game Pass Ultimate members, who can now invite friends to join cloud gaming sessions without relying on the traditional Xbox friends list.
Introducing New Invite Links
Users can generate invite links while playing multiplayer games, allowing for easy sharing via messages, group chats, or social media. To create an invite, simply select the “Anyone”tab in the Xbox invite menu, where a conveniently copied link will be available.
By clicking the shared invite link, players will be directed to sign into their Microsoft accounts. They can join the session through a web browser or compatible TV. If using a TV, players must initially click the link on a mobile device or web browser. After that, they can choose the “Join on a different device”option to receive a short code for use on a supported display. However, it’s important to remember that joining through the link also requires an active Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscription.
Key Considerations for Cloud Invitations
As users familiarize themselves with this new feature, Microsoft emphasizes several essential points:
- All participants need to have an Xbox account; some games may also necessitate an Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscription.
- Each player must own a license for the game to participate.
- Invitation capacity is limited by the maximum player count set by the specific game.
- Link creators retain the power to revoke invites at any point to restrict new entrants.
- The option to remove current players from a session is game-dependent.

Enhancements to Game Streaming
In conjunction with the invite link feature, Microsoft announced updates to its “stream your own game”functionality. The following games have been recently added to this program, with several more on the horizon:
