Xbox Cloud Gaming goes live on Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One

Xbox Cloud Gaming on consoles

After spending some time in the Insider track, the promised Xbox Cloud Gaming feature has finally launched for Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S. Like mobile and PC players who have had the feature for some time now, Xbox console owners with Xbox Game Pass Ultimate memberships can now jump into cloud-supported games available on the subscription.

The rollout is happening across 25 Xbox supported regions, with Brazil also joining them soon. Using Xbox Cloud Gaming, console players can try out Xbox Game Pass titles before installing them, even join friends instantly. Microsoft also pointed out it has the benefit of saving valuable storage space as well.

For Xbox One players, Microsoft is working on bringing current-generation games streaming support. This will allow old-gen console owners to experience the latest Xbox Series X|S games without the required hardware. The company finished upgrading its cloud gaming servers to custom Series X hardware back in October.

Starting off, only a select number of games are available for now like Recompile, The Medium, and The Riftbreaker. The list will expand going forward, with Microsoft Flight Simulator incoming in early 2022.
