Xbox Ambassadors Program to End on October 15, Microsoft Announces

More than 13 years ago, Microsoft initiated the Xbox Ambassadors program. This initiative aimed to empower experienced Xbox gamers and enthusiasts to assist others by addressing support inquiries in community forums or hosting gaming sessions, fostering connections among Xbox fans. Microsoft acknowledged the efforts of these Xbox Ambassadors with exclusive rewards, giveaways, and more.

Recently, Microsoft announced that it will be discontinuing the Xbox Ambassadors program in just a few weeks. In a recent blog post, the company explained the rationale behind this decision:

Over the past decade, Xbox has evolved along with the needs of our global community. Players now find greater value in engaging with us through other platforms that embody our community ethos of making Xbox an enjoyable space for everyone—ideal programs include Fanfest, the Xbox Insider Program, and Rewards with Xbox. Thanks to the contributions from this group, the opportunity for players to experience gaming joy is now more widespread and inclusive than ever—and we believe this is the right time to integrate the insights and principles of the Ambassador community into all of our player interaction initiatives.

The Xbox Ambassadors website will cease operations on October 15. Members of the program are encouraged to claim any outstanding codes or rewards before this deadline. Additional changes will also involve the termination of Ambassador Quests, and the Xbox Ambassadors badge will transition to a new and final legacy design.

Active Xbox Ambassadors during this season will receive a special acknowledgment in the rewards section. Leading up to the shutdown, the program will host weekly sweepstakes. Furthermore, Microsoft has indicated that the Xbox Ambassador Champions program will be rebranded as Xbox Community Champions.

Although this program is coming to an end, Microsoft has plans to enhance both the Rewards with Xbox and the Xbox Research program, with further details to follow. The company added:

You will also gain a new, more global platform for sharing feedback directly with us through Xbox Research, allowing for greater early access to new games and features while helping us improve the Xbox experience for all.

For those who haven’t done so already, Xbox Ambassadors can also join the Xbox Insider Program, where they can preview upcoming features for the Xbox console and PC apps, as well as test new games.
