On Thursday, Microsoft unveiled a new update for Xbox Insiders on the Alpha Skip-Ahead Ring and Alpha Ring. Both updates share the same version number (2410.240925-0005) and provide the same release notes.
While neither ring has introduced new features, the update includes numerous fixes across various categories such as Apps, Capture & Share, Home and Guide, and System. However, there are some known issues related to Friends and Follows, as well as Search functionality.
The complete release notes are as follows:
Fixes Included
Thanks to the valuable feedback from Xbox Insiders and the diligent efforts of Xbox engineers, we are pleased to share the following fixes included in this build:
Apps
- Resolved an issue causing an unexpected green screen during video playback for some streaming content.
Capture & Share
- Addressed a problem that caused game clip captures not to end when the drive was out of space, which could lead to unexpected performance issues until the console was restarted.
Home and Guide
- Fixed issues related to missing groups and ensured Home and Guide display the most recently used games and apps as intended.
System
- Implemented various updates to accurately reflect local languages across the console.
- Note: Users engaged in Preview may encounter unusual text across the console. For further details, visit What’s This? Learn More About Pseudo-Loc in Preview
Known Issues
While known issues were previously noted in earlier Xbox Insider Release Notes, they are actively being addressed! However, it may take additional time for Xbox engineers to find solutions. For more details about the known issues, see below.
Friends and Followers
- Users may notice Xbox 360 friends added as favorites appearing in both friends and following lists. (2410.240908-1630)
- Notifications for accepted friend requests may appear when someone adds you as a favorite or shares their real name. (2410.240908-1630)
Search
- We acknowledge that the keyboard may lose focus after switching to the emoji keyboard when searching from Home or the guide, especially if a colon or exclamation point was selected before switching. (2410.240918-2200)
- Workaround: Try backing out of the keyboard and performing the search, then attempt again with the cursor positioned in a different area before switching to the emoji keyboard.
If you encounter any of these issues, we encourage you to follow the provided guidance and submit your feedback using Report a Problem. For more information on giving feedback and its process, please visit:
If you are part of either of these rings, you should already have access to the updates. By 3 a.m. PT on September 27, installation of both updates will be mandatory for testers.
