This ruling forces the company to justify its lack of action in a case involving two minors who claimed the platform failed to respond adequately to reports of explicit content disseminated by traffickers.
Despite persistent notifications and follow-ups from the complainants, X allegedly allowed the concerning video to remain online for several days before reaching out to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC).Judge Danielle Forrest’s ruling requires X to defend its actions and to explain why it did not meet its obligations, marking a crucial moment for the accountability of tech giants in safeguarding vulnerable users.
