WWE veteran baffled by Rhea Ripley’s Stinkface: “If she is a babyface, fine, rub your b*tt in people’s faces” (Exclusive)
Rhea Ripley caused a stir online after delivering a Stinkface to Nia Jax at a WWE live event. On an episode of We’s The Wrestling Outlaws, Vince Russo offered an explanation as to why this moment did not align with Ripley’s character.
In the world of professional wrestling, Rhea Ripley is known as a member of The Judgment Day and holds the title of heel Women’s World Champion. At the highly anticipated WrestleMania XL, she will go head-to-head with one of the company’s top female fan favorites, Becky Lynch. Despite her villainous actions, the Australian sensation is consistently met with thunderous cheers from the audience, solidifying her status as one of the most beloved figures on the roster.
At a house show leading up to WrestleMania, Rhea Ripley surprised the audience by using Rikishi’s famous Stinkface on Nia Jax in their match. While the majority of fans and critics found the move entertaining, Vince Russo expressed confusion about Ripley’s character and suggested that it would have been more appropriate if she was a heroic character. However, he felt that her recent actions did not align with her current role.
“Again, bro, it’s just very confusing to me. We talk about this all the time, Chris. Is she [Rhea Ripley] a babyface or a heel? I mean, if she is a babyface, fine, rub your b**t in people’s faces, man. But again, man, she is going up against Becky Lynch at WrestleMania; it’s just, I don’t know. A lot of the roles are very, very confusing to me,”said the veteran. [From 06:40 to 07:04]
EC3 comments on Rhea Ripley’s recent WWE Live Event appearance
Despite not appearing on television, Rhea Ripley continues to generate buzz and conversation. Although EC3 believed that the Stinkface should not be a regular part of Ripley’s move set, the former WWE wrestler did not oppose its occasional use at live events.
During the latest installment of Sportskkeeda’s The Wrestling Outlaws, Carter acknowledged the fan response to Ripley’s Stinkface on Jax and emphasized how she had managed to generate buzz on social media with just one move at a house show. The current NWA Worlds Heavyweight Champion elaborated:
“I would say, in reality, no, it should not be a staple of the offense, but doing it at a live event sometimes, and sometimes at live events, you’re just out there, you’re having fun. The fans are receptive to it, and we’re sitting here. Three creeps talking about it. So, it obviously works.”[From 7:05 onwards]
Despite not receiving the best reviews from her peers for her Stinkface, Ripley is unlikely to be bothered by it. As The Judgment Day star, she appears to relish all the publicity that comes her way.
