WWE planting seeds for a 3-way storyline between The Rock and 2 superstars on RAW After ‘Mania is possible, says veteran
According to wrestling veteran Matt Morgan, it is possible for WWE to lay the foundation for a three-way storyline involving The Rock, Roman Reigns, and Cody Rhodes on RAW After ‘Mania.
The Ultimate Villain will join forces with his relative to face off against Cody Rhodes and World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins in a monumental tag team match on the opening night of The Grand Event. In the meantime, The Tribal Leader will put his Unquestioned WWE Universal Championship on the line against The American Nightmare on the second night.
Morgan proposed on Gigantic Pop that The Great One may interfere in Reigns’ title match at WrestleMania, sparking a conflict between the two cousins on RAW the next day. The experienced commentator also predicted that this could result in a three-way storyline involving the two superstars and Cody Rhodes.
“Something has to break, either at ‘Mania or the first night after ‘Mania. The biggest RAW of the year is always the night after ‘Mania, right? Something’s got to give between him [Reigns] and The Rock here, in my opinion. Am I saying Rock costs Roman or helps Cody win or something like that? But maybe the next night something kicks off. I think they go; I think there’s a three-way layered storyline between Cody, Roman, and The Rock still. I do,”he said. [39:14 – 39:42]
Former WWE Superstar Matt Morgan Predicts Cody Rhodes to Capture Championship at WrestleMania XL
In WrestleMania 39, Cody Rhodes competed against Roman Reigns for the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship, following his victory in the 2023 Men’s Royal Rumble Match. Despite his efforts, The American Nightmare was unable to break The Tribal Chief’s record-setting title reign.
The 38-year-old will have the opportunity to complete his journey when he faces off against the head of The Bloodline on Night Two of this year’s Show of Shows. On the same podcast, Matt Morgan confidently predicted that Rhodes would finally claim his first world championship in WWE on April 7th.
“[Do you think Cody should win the title?] Abso-flipping-lutely! Yes, yes, yes, yes! I will be irate if he doesn’t. I’ll be heartbroken if he doesn’t,”he said.
Last week, The Rock reminded The American Nightmare that this was his final opportunity to claim Reigns’ championship. It will be intriguing to witness if Cody Rhodes concludes his narrative this weekend.
