WWE NXT Results: Brutal match ends via referee stoppage, current champ threatened; top stars start big brawl
The WWE NXT began before WrestleMania weekend with a Triple-Threat match to determine the contenders for the tag team champions, The Wolfdogs.
We witnessed some fantastic matches tonight, including a showdown between Trick Williams and Carmelo Hayes.

WWE NXT Results (April 2, 2024): Axiom & Nathan Frazer vs. The O.C. vs. LWO – Triple Threat Tag Team Match
After receiving some dives from Frazer and LWO, we began the match by defeating The O.C. LWO swiftly gained dominance in the match, and we managed to execute more dives before taking a break.
On NXT, Axiom attempted a massive Spanish Fly on Wilde which resulted in a nearfall, however Gallows was able to break up the pin. The fight then spilled outside where Del Toro executed a daring dive onto the crowd. Anderson was then taken down by a top rope dropkick from Del Toro.
Before Gallows could join him for the Magic Killer, Anderson evaded the Phoenix Splash. Axiom then re-entered the fray with a powerful superkick, allowing Frazer to execute the 450 splash on Del Toro and secure the victory.
The outcome of the match was that Axiom and Nathan Frazer defeated The O.C. and LWO.
The grade received was a B+.
Lexis King appeared in a video promo where he imitated and ridiculed both Von Wagner and Mr. Stone.
As Ilja Dragunov made his way to the meeting with Tony D’Angelo, he realized that his car had broken down. Suddenly, two of Tony’s henchmen pulled up and instructed Ilja to join them in their car. Although the NXT champion initially refused, the goons made it clear that he had no other option before they drove off together.
Jacy Jayne and Fallon Henley Clash on WWE NXT
Despite Henley’s initial control, Kiana’s distraction caused Jayne to send her out of the ring. Jayne then delivered a powerful kick at ringside, sparking a heated argument between Thea Hail and Kelani Jordan.
As Kiana James and Izzi Dame targeted Thea Hail at ringside, Fallon Henley rushed to her aid. However, Jayne took advantage of the distraction and landed a knee to Henley’s face, securing the victory in the ring.
Outcome: Jacy Jayne emerged victorious over Fallon Henley.
The grade received was a B.
After the match, Jayne clarified that she had never been friends with Thea Hail and that her only intention was to assist Chase U in regaining the spotlight.
Upon entering, Thea Hail, Kelani Jackson, and Fallon Henley expressed their grievances to Ava, leading to the NXT General Manager scheduling a six-woman tag match between the two teams.
The Epic Showdown: Von Wagner Takes on Lexis King in WWE NXT
Wagner began the match with a powerful takedown and then proceeded to throw King out of the ring and into the barricades. King retaliated with a series of chops and a devastating neckbreaker, coming close to a pinfall before applying a submission hold.
Wagner managed to escape from the hold, but was immediately hit with a superkick. He then received a massive powerslam. King was also on the receiving end of a clothesline and a big boot before being slammed onto the apron. Von attempted to clear the announce desk, but his opponent countered with a DDT. King then delivered The Coronation in the ring, securing the victory.
Outcome: Lexis King emerged victorious over Von Wagner.
The grade received was a B.
Backstage, Arianna Grace inquired Wren Sinclair about the dresses she had bought for Gigi Dolin’s makeover. Sinclair subtly suggested that Gigi may not require a makeover, which angered Grace and led her to challenge Sinclair to a match.
The Epic Showdown: Lola Vice vs. Karmen Petrovic on WWE NXT
Vice was able to successfully block several kicks at the beginning, but later she was able to deliver some kicks of her own and almost secure a victory. Petrovic responded with a powerful roundhouse kick after executing a takedown, nearly securing a victory for himself as well.
Lola executed a powerful takedown and successfully applied the sharpshooter, taunting Natalya as she forced Petrovic to submit.
Karmen Petrovic was defeated by Lola Vice.

At the secret meeting held in a warehouse, Dragunov and Tony’s henchmen made an appearance. They were met by a group of individuals armed with crowbars and other dangerous tools.
D’Angelo, Stack, and Rizzo joined us, leaving us curious about what would happen next.
Meta-Four was featured on our Supernova Sessions, with the initial guest being Roxanne Perez, followed by Lyra Valkyria.
Perez was reminded by Valkyria that losing the title was her own failure and that she should take responsibility instead of blaming others.
Perez responded by stating her intention to knock Lyra off her pedestal, remarking that losing the title has only made her more determined. The champion then stood up and retorted that while she may win, all Perez does is complain.
Perez aggressively confronted her, revealing that she had been harboring a year’s worth of anger before launching an attack on the champion. Lyra responded by delivering a powerful kick, sending her crashing through a table in the ring.
Joe Gacy and Oba Femi’s Intense Showdown on WWE NXT
Despite Joe Gacy being on his way out to confront Oba Femi, he was ambushed by Shawn Spears with a steel chair. Femi then proceeded to pull Gacy to the ring before their scheduled match began.
In the beginning of the match, Gacy was hit with a powerful backbreaker and the champion proceeded to throw him around the ring. Eventually, the referee was forced to call off the match as Gacy was unable to stand back up.
Outcome: Did Not Finish
The grade earned was a C.
The Epic Showdown: Arianna Grace vs. Wren Sinclair on WWE NXT
During the beginning of the match, Sinclair landed a few kicks and executed an Atomic Drop. However, Grace quickly countered with a dropkick and followed up with some elbow strikes. Grace then applied a Boston Crab, but Sinclair managed to break free by delivering a kick and then delivering a series of powerful chops to the chest.
Grace avoided a move in the corner and secured a bridging pin for the victory, despite Sinclair’s earlier use of a powerful clothesline and crossbody.
The outcome of the match was that Arianna Grace defeated Wren Sinclair.
Letter Grade: C
Upon their return to Dragunov and D’Angelo’s meeting, the Don declared that this marked the end of Ilja’s reign as champion. Dragunov confidently stated that he was unstoppable and determined to walk away as the champion on Saturday.
Tony delivered a crushing blow to the champ’s injured hand, declaring that he was willing to go to extreme measures to defeat Ilja and claim the NXT Title.
The Epic Showdown: Sol Ruca and Blair Davenport Face Off on WWE NXT
Ruca performed a big slam on Davenport before the match relocated outside, while Blair directed Sol’s knee to collide with the steel steps.
In the ring, Ruca attempted a big top rope DDT, resulting in a near fall. However, Davenport was able to block the Sol Snatcher. Sol then countered Blair’s finisher and surprised everyone with a sudden rollup, ultimately securing the victory.
The outcome of the match was that Sol Ruca defeated Blair Davenport.
The grade received was a B.
Ava was behind the scenes when Joe Gacy approached her to request that she arrange a match between himself and Shawn Spears.
Carmelo Hayes was accompanied by his security team, while Trick Williams was by himself. Trick expressed that things were not going as planned, but he couldn’t help but notice that this would be the first time an all-black main event was taking place at a major WWE event.
Melo and Trick fondly recalled the strength of their alliance, but Melo pointed the blame at Trick for “ruining things for everyone.”Trick responded by reminding Melo of his own actions that led to the downfall, before using an analogy comparing Williams pursuing the NXT Title to Melo pursuing his girlfriend.
Trick claimed that he was going to pursue the NXT Title, and Melo should have mentioned his disapproval if he truly did not want him to do so. However, Melo instead offered excuses and remarked that Trick should have remained modest.
Melo predicted that Trick’s current success would be short-lived as the crowd would eventually turn against him as well. Trick saw Melo’s envy and the two engaged in a tense stare-down before a fight erupted.
The security personnel and officials were joined by a majority of the roster as NXT concluded.
