WWE legend believes The Rock paid tribute to a late Hall of Famer in a recent segment
The Rock’s recent segments have been characterized by his unrelenting and brutal attacks. He has specifically targeted his rival, Cody Rhodes, leaving The American Nightmare battered and bruised in the past two episodes of RAW. While both beatings were severe, the one that occurred last week, catching Rhodes off guard, was deemed the most ruthless. According to a WWE legend, there was a deeper meaning behind this segment beyond just sheer aggression.
Upon viewing the segment for the first time, Mick Foley, a wrestling savant and former tag team partner of The Rock, analyzed it on his YouTube channel. In his analysis, Foley noticed things that the average fan may have overlooked, including what he believes was a tribute from The Rock to the late Hall of Famer, Terry Funk, whom Foley also considers a close friend.
In August of last year, the wrestling community mourned the passing of Terry Funk, who was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 2009. While watching a beatdown, Mick Foley noticed that The Rock had used a toolbox, which he interpreted as a tribute to Funk’s signature use of toolboxes in matches and segments.
“Oh! Nod to Terry Funk I’d say. He was the master of the toolbox!”said Mick Foley. [From 0:42 to 0:46]

Despite Foley’s impressive performance, there is no definitive proof of the validity of this claim. The Rock has not addressed the issue, likely due to his commitment to his villainous persona. Nonetheless, it is heartening to consider the possibility that Terry Funk may have contributed to the success of that scene.
What surprise does The Rock have in store for “Mama Rhodes”?
The Rock has recently announced his intention to give Cody’s mother a belt stained with her son’s blood as a gift. While this may not be a present a mother would typically desire, it is a crucial element of the story. Additionally, The Brahma Bull has also revealed another gift he has in mind for her.
Using X, The Final Boss reached out to a fan and shared a photo of a painting they had created of him from the night he defeated Cody Rhodes. Impressed by the fan’s talent, he politely asked if they would be willing to sell it to him as a gift for “Mama Rhodes.”

Regardless of one’s opinions, the Hollywood star is successfully portraying his role as a villain. Despite being a beloved hero for a significant time, it would be natural for him to face difficulties adjusting to his new persona. However, he has embraced the challenge and has gained the interest of the entire WWE Universe, who are eagerly anticipating his potential defeat at WrestleMania 40.
