Despite being absent from WWE for several years, The Rock has made a triumphant return and is now embroiled in the most highly anticipated rivalry leading up to WrestleMania XL. It may have been hard to believe just two years ago that he would be making his comeback in the ring at The Show of Shows this year, but one WWE Hall of Famer foresaw it a decade ago.

During the Attitude Era, the Final Boss was a major standout and achieved great success. He held multiple championships and was the main event of many shows. Despite his success, he made the decision to leave both the company and the wrestling industry at the peak of his career in order to pursue acting, where he continued to excel and achieve even greater success.

After making an appearance on the October 4, 2019 episode of SmackDown, The Rock’s WWE appearances became few and far between. It was not until four years later that he returned to the squared circle, much to the delight of wrestling fans. Despite rumors of a potential match against his cousin Roman Reigns at WrestleMania 39, it was not meant to be. However, during a surprise appearance on the January 8 episode of RAW, he hinted at a potential match against The Tribal Chief.

Fast forward to the present day, he will now be joining forces with the current Undisputed WWE Universal Champion to face off against Cody Rhodes and Seth Rollins at WrestleMania XL Night One. This will mark his first appearance in a match since 2016. A clip has recently resurfaced of wrestling legend Booker T from ten years ago, predicting that The Rock would compete at WrestleMania 40.

“He’s a big-time superstar now, he’s a multi-billion dollar actor now but wrestling is in your heart, it’s in your blood. And it’s something that really never goes away and I can expect to see Rock trying to sneak in WrestleMania 40 if he gets a chance,”said Booker.

His most recent in-ring appearance was at WrestleMania 32, where he had an unexpected match against former WWE star Erick Rowan.
