In a recent conversation, I had the opportunity to speak with Lynell Jinks, the producer of WWE 2K25, as well as Dino Zucconi, the creative mastermind behind the 2K Showcase. Together, they shared their vision for this year’s game and the direction in which they aim to take the beloved franchise.

Driving Change in the Series

Lynell Jinks: “We always try to listen to our users… By doing things like allowing intergender matches, we see it’s something that people want. It adds different matchups and replayability.”

Jinks emphasized the commitment of the development team to respond to player feedback, noting how the inclusion of intergender matches enhances the gameplay experience. This option reflects a broader shift towards greater flexibility within the game, allowing players to customize their experiences. The introduction of The Island, noted as a fantasy hub, further demonstrates the developers’ willingness to break from traditional structures, a change that has been made possible due to the trust established with WWE.

Intergender Wrestling: A New Frontier

The decision to include intergender wrestling has sparked engaging discussions among players. Jinks assures that players will have the option to disable this feature if they prefer more traditional matchups:
