Vault Underground is an expansive repository created by the Montelli Family and stands as one of the exciting new additions in Wuthering Waves Version 2.1. Nestled beneath the Averardo Vault, this area is brimming with treasures and challenges waiting for players to uncover. A notable challenge here is known as Dream Patrol, where adventurers must meet particular criteria while facing the formidable Tacet Discords.
In the Vault Underground, players will encounter two distinct Dream Patrol challenges. To gain access to these challenges, the first prerequisite is to complete the Exploration Quest titled Silent as a Falling Leaf. This quest is automatically added to the player’s quest log when they log in during or after Version 2.1. Let’s delve into the specific details of these two Dream Patrol challenges and the strategies to conquer them in Wuthering Waves.
Dream Patrol Challenges in Vault Underground
Challenge Location #1

The inaugural Dream Patrol challenge is situated on the first floor of the Precious Metals and Artworks Depository. Players should activate the Resonance Beacon, proceed inside, and navigate to the room located behind the main staircase. Here, they will encounter a security light above the doorway that needs to be disabled using the Montelli Clearance Module.
To successfully complete this Dream Patrol, players must defeat a Diurnus Knight within a strict timeframe of two and a half minutes while achieving three specific objectives:
- Maintain a Battle Rank S or above for 8 seconds.
- Execute 2 successful counterattacks.
- Defeat the knight while it is immobilized.
Building the Battle Rank can be accomplished through attacks, dodges, or counterattacks. It’s crucial to note that the Diurnus Knight won’t initiate counterable moves until it enters its enhanced phase, denoted by a bow and the summoning of three colored swords. The initial counterable action comes in the form of an aerial attack, where the knight leaps back before charging forward. The second counterable move occurs after two rapid spins with its sword, identifiable when the knight briefly kneels.
For the immobilization objective, players will need sufficient burst damage to finish the knight as it staggers. Utilizing consumables that increase character damage can be advantageous. Completing each of the specified objectives rewards players with a Tidal Heritage of increasing rarity.
Challenge Location #2

The second Dream Patrol challenge is found in the Echo Depository, positioned just north of the previous challenge. After activating the Resonance Beacon, players should head into the building and make their way to the room behind the staircase. In this challenge, players will engage with Rage Against the Statue, with a similar two-and-a-half-minute time restriction.
Participants need to complete the following objectives:
- Reach Battle Rank S for over 10 seconds.
- Immobilize Rage Against the Statue twice.
- Receive fewer than 10 hits during the battle.
To efficiently achieve these goals, players should first clear out the encroaching Golden Junrocks and Calcified Junrocks. This strategy will bolster the Battle Rank and minimize the chances of unnecessary damage. Once cleared, the focus can shift to immobilizing Rage Against the Statue.
When the stagger bar of Rage Against the Statue drops to around 50%, it summons a protective rock shield that absorbs stagger damage. Players must attack the shield from the front to destroy it and immediately immobilize the enemy. Caution is necessary; players should avoid inadvertently defeating Rage Against the Statue before meeting the immobilization criteria, allowing it to recover before forcing another summoning of the rock shield. Completing all objectives in this Dream Patrol will reward players with all three Tidal Heritage rarities. Currently, these challenges are the only offerings in Vault Underground.
