Wuthering Waves: Ultimate Guide to Farming Echoes and Maximizing Echo EXP

In Wuthering Waves, Echoes play a crucial role in enhancing character capabilities. These elements function similarly to item sets found in other games, offering significant stat boosts when appropriately equipped.

Farming Echoes in this gacha game typically requires a blend of luck and perseverance. However, those eager to explore the fascinating, post-apocalyptic world of Wuthering Waves will surely enjoy the adventure. This guide will explore various methods to effectively farm Echoes and gather the necessary materials to enhance their experience points (EXP).

Updated February 26, 2025 by Marc Santos: Since the initial release of Wuthering Waves 1.0, although many aspects have shifted, the strategies for farming Echoes and Echo EXP largely remain unchanged. Players will primarily rely on open-world exploration and Tacet Fields to collect Echoes and EXP materials. This updated guide also introduces insights on farming Boss Echoes, which are often the most influential for Resonators.

Strategies to Farm Echoes in Wuthering Waves

You can obtain Echoes through two primary methods: open-world hunting and farming in Tacet Fields. Hunting is ideal for targeting specific Echoes, while farming in Tacet Fields allows for a more convenient way to complete Echo Sets and earn materials for EXP upgrades.

To unlock gold Echoes in Wuthering Waves, you must increase your Data Bank to level 15. After reaching this milestone, you’ll have opportunities to collect gold versions of all Echoes.

Open-World Echo Farming

The most effective way for newcomers to acquire Echoes is by battling monsters scattered throughout the open world. Players can either embark on personal explorations or strategically target farm particular enemies. You can locate monsters by accessing the Echo Gallery within your Data Bank.

All Tacet Discord adversaries possess a 20% base chance of dropping an Echo upon defeat. Continue your hunt until all monsters in your vicinity have been vanquished. The game also features an Echo Pity system, which aids in acquiring the desired Echoes more frequently.

For beginners, it’s advisable to prioritize the acquisition of character and weapon materials over Echoes at the start of the game.

Farming in Tacet Fields

Upon reaching certain milestones in the main quest, players unlock Tacet Fields, which serve as this game’s counterpart to Artifact Domains seen in Genshin Impact. Farming in Tacet Fields is often more efficient than open-world hunting due to its streamlined format.

Each Tacet Field provides drops from two predetermined Echo sets, facilitating the rapid completion of set collections such as Rejuvenating Glow or Moonlit Clouds. However, keep in mind that accessing these fields requires 60 Waveplates, limiting your daily farming potential to just four fields without additional resources. Thankfully, you can also accumulate Echo EXP materials during your Tacet Field endeavors, allowing you to enhance the Echoes you earn.

Farming Boss Echoes

Defeating the first 15 Overlord and Calamity-class bosses each week dramatically increases your chances of receiving Echo drops without any Waveplate costs. Simply approach a boss you wish to farm and engage in battle. Overlord-class bosses respawn every two minutes, regardless of your location or activities.

It is advisable to focus on farming two bosses simultaneously: One for your DPS characters and another for your support units. For instance, the Bell-borne Geochelone in WuWa is particularly valuable for support builds, as it drops both Rejuvenating Glow and Moonlit Clouds sets, along with an active skill that bolsters team defense.

Farming Echo EXP in Wuthering Waves

Buying Echo EXP materials in Wuthering Waves

The main avenue for farming Echo EXP in Wuthering Waves remains through Tacet Field challenges. While you may attempt them multiple times daily, rewards only become available upon spending Waveplates. Note that enemies encountered in Tacet Fields do not drop Echoes, and un-leveled Echoes yield no EXP.

When Waveplates are scarce, you can acquire Echo EXP materials from several in-game shops, including:

  • The Points Shop
  • The Illusive Realms store
  • The Souvenir Store located in Jinzhou
  • The Averardo Bank in Ragunna
  • Event rewards

Currency required for the Points Shop is obtained by successfully completing challenges in the Tower of Adversity and Tactical Hologram. Currency for the Illusive Realms is earned through any difficulty of that specific activity. For purchases at the Jinzhou Souvenir Store, Wood Textured Shards are essential, available through chest openings, Tidal Heritages, or challenges. The Averardo Bank requires Monnaie, another type of currency obtained through similar methods.

It is important to note that these secondary sources may be limited in availability. Items in the Points Shop refresh on a monthly basis, while the Illusive Realms store’s refresh cycle remains uncertain. Souvenir Store items are finite, and once depleted, purchasing options may cease. Event rewards often have a time constraint, but with frequent events introduced in new patches, they present a steady opportunity for acquiring essential Echo EXP materials.
