Wuthering Waves, Genshin Impact’s Next Competitor, Launches on May 22
According to the developers’ Special Program livestream, Wuthering Waves, an open-world action RPG developed by Kuro Games, is set to release on May 22.
The long-awaited release date for Wuthering Waves, the latest title from Kuro Games (known for their popular game Punishing: Gray Raven), has finally been announced. After undergoing a closed beta test nearly a year ago, the game developers have officially revealed the launch date through their Special Broadcast Program. Fans can expect the game to drop on multiple platforms, including iOS, Android, and the Epic Games Store for PC. While a console version will not be available at launch, the studio has confirmed that they are working on it and it will be released in the future, although it may take some time according to sources.
The Special Program also introduced various changes to Wuthering Waves, taking into account feedback from the community. These changes include adjustments to the game’s progression and improvements to dialogue and animations. In addition, Kuro Games has announced a pre-registration reward system. Players can sign up on supported platforms before the official launch and receive milestone rewards based on the number of pre-registrations, as listed below.

During the Special Broadcast, Kuro Games unveiled a new cinematic trailer for their upcoming game Wuthering Waves, titled Saving Light.
In the game, players are immersed in the realm of Solaris-3 alongside a protagonist who is slowly regaining their memories. The open world can be freely explored using tools such as a grapple and wall dash. Additionally, players can anticipate fast-paced battles and utilize ‘unique QTE (Quick Time Event) mechanics’.
