WUCHANG: Soulwood Boss Guide for Fallen Feathers Reborn Treant

WUCHANG: Fallen Feathers presents players with an array of formidable bosses, one notable challenge being the Reborn Treant, Soulwood. While not the toughest of opponents, players transitioning from basic melee combat may find themselves uncertain about how to effectively engage in this battle.

To conquer this boss, you’ll need to leverage spells and exploit enemy vulnerabilities. To ease your journey, we’ve compiled a comprehensive WUCHANG: Fallen Feathers Reborn Treant, Soulwood boss guide.

Understanding the Reborn Treant, Soulwood

The Reborn Treant, Soulwood, is a massive tree-like boss located at the end of Doomwillow Beach. Drawing parallels to the Curse-Rotted Greatwood from Dark Souls 3, he remains largely stationary while summoning smaller foes within the arena. However, many players find him more manageable than his Dark Souls counterpart.

Reborn Treant Moveset Overview

As you step into the arena, you’ll notice Soulwood stationed in a menacing red pool at the far side. Throughout the encounter, he remains rooted in place but will summon skeletal minions and lash out with his tree branches, both up close and from distance.

Keep an eye out for his devastating AoE fire attacks, which can cover the entire arena. If his arms become lodged in the terrain, avoid them at all costs; once freed, they’ll cause a harmful AoE explosion.

Approaching Soulwood aggressively might seem like a good strategy, but beware—the red pool he occupies accumulates the Despair ailment. Should this meter fill, it can lead to your demise, akin to the Deathblight mechanic in Elden Ring.

Formulating Your Strategy Against Soulwood

Your approach to defeating the Reborn Treant can be dictated by your build. If you prefer melee combat, focus on:

  • Targeting Soulwood’s arms while adeptly dodging when he lifts them.
  • Attacking his body when the red pool’s influence fades.

This tactic may prolong the battle, so consider integrating a blend of Magic Spells and Fire Pots for a more effective strategy.

As a tree, Soulwood is particularly vulnerable to Fire. Utilizing either Fire Pots or Niter Fire Pots can yield significant damage. Additionally, the gore he throws results in a stack of Skyborn Might, enabling spellcasters to charge quickly and unleash powerful Fire-type Spells to expedite the fight.

The most effective ranged Fire-type Spell at this stage is Burning Flames, which allows for dodging before casting. Alternatively, if you prefer a more hands-on approach, consider using Echo of Dhutanga.

If you find the encounter challenging, other useful items include:

  • Flameward Pills for enhancing Fire resistance.
  • Mind Lotus Seeds to counteract Despair buildup.
  • Fixed Origin Pill to temporarily bolster your ailment resistances.

Rewards for Conquering Soulwood

Upon defeating Soulwood, you’ll receive the Alltree Jade Cylinder, which can be exchanged with Merchant Tao Qing for new items. Additionally, you’ll acquire the Echo of Soulwood Spell, allowing you to launch gore chunks—inflicting Feathering damage—at subsequent foes.
