Within the vibrant world of Wuchang: Fallen Feathers, players encounter a range of colorful NPCs, but none quite as intriguing as the enigmatic Boy in the Jar. This peculiar character, distinguished by his jar-covered head, can be found in various locations throughout the game, each offering a glimpse into his elusive quest.
Let’s delve into the journey of the Boy in the Jar and explore the various stages of his quest across Wuchang: Fallen Feathers.
Boy in the Jar’s Initial Encounter: Shu Sanctum

The Boy in the Jar is first spotted relatively early on in your adventure. While traveling from Lightzen Temple to Shu Sanctum, you’ll come across Nian casually mentioning a boy inside a nearby building. Head into that building, and you’ll find the Boy in the Jar sitting on the floor.
To interact with him meaningfully, you can offer him the Dough Figurine of Mu Guiying, which can be collected from Lightzen Temple amidst some enemies. This location is also where you’ll confront the Master Raider boss, adding to the importance of this initial encounter.
It’s crucial to retain any food items akin to the Dough Figurine, as they’ll play a significant role in future interactions with the Boy in the Jar as you progress through the game.
Boy in the Jar’s Next Stop: Refugee Camp

As you continue your quest, you’ll arrive at Hillswatch, a connecting hub for Cloudspire and Zhenwu Temple. While navigating this area, you will encounter the White-Robed Elder near a bridge leading towards the Refugee Camp. He’ll inform you that the camp is just ahead.
Before reaching the Refugee Camp, you’ll find the Boy in the Jar situated on the opposite side of the bridge. Here, you have the opportunity to give him either the Dough Figurine of Yang Zongbao or the Bloodied Steamed Bunny Bun, both of which can be obtained outside Shu Sanctum near the Gluttonous Monstrosity boss encounter, as well as earlier in the vicinity of the Refugee Camp.
Boy in the Jar’s Progress: Refugee Camp

Upon defeating the Bo Sorcerer, the Boy in the Jar relocates within the Refugee Camp. You’ll notice that he has moved to the far side of the bridge, now behind a closed door.
To access him, venture up the hill adjacent to the Bo Sorcerer’s boss arena, destroy a cart on your right, and follow the alternate path that will lead you to the boy’s new hiding spot. When you converse with him, you’ll encounter two dialogue choices: “Tell of the boat waiting at the dock” and “Keep quiet about the boat at the dock.” You must choose to inform him about the boat to encourage him to shift to the next location.
Boy in the Jar’s Final Abode: The Docks

After defeating the Fierce Tiger boss, proceed down to the docks situated below the altar. This area is teeming with NPCs, one of whom is the Boy in the Jar, located at the far end of the longest dock on the left side, near where Li Dingo can also be found if you have been tracking his questline.
At this location, there’s no need to present him with any items; simply approach and speak to him to complete this segment of the quest.
Conclusion of the Boy in the Jar Quest

Continue progressing through the game until you take down the Perfect Bride boss, at which point it’s time to revisit the docks. Upon returning to the location where the boy was last seen, you will find that he has vanished, leaving behind a valuable item.
Collect the Ceramic Jar, the Boy in the Jar’s helmet, which serves as a piece of head armor for your character, enhancing your gameplay experience for the remainder of your journey.
