As players navigate the rugged, snow-covered terrains of Cloudspire Outskirts in Wuchang: Fallen Feathers, their primary goal is to gain access to the elusive Cloudspire City. However, players will soon discover that entering the city is a daunting task, as the main access bridge is raised, and alternative routes are non-existent.
To successfully lower the bridge and enter Cloudspire, players must delve into specific tasks outlined in the game, though these instructions are somewhat nebulous. One of the first steps is to seek the guidance of the White-Robed Elder, located near the Cloudspire Outskirts Shrine. Interacting with him will provide the player with a crucial but limited hint for progressing further.
Methods to Lower the Bridge in Cloudspire Outskirts
Players have two primary methods to lower the bridge leading into Cloudspire: the first involves defeating the General of the North, a formidable boss found near the Rebel Camp. This approach not only challenges players but also typically enhances the storyline by allowing for additional progression.
The second method is to light three beacons scattered across the Cloudspire Outskirts. Each beacon resides atop one of three towers, requiring players to seek them out and light them sequentially. The method chosen to lower the bridge can significantly influence narrative outcomes; for instance, bypassing the General of the North fight can result in distinct dialogues among NPCs and alternative questlines, ultimately leading to different endings within the game.
Steps to Light the Three Beacons
Prior to embarking on your quest for the three beacons, you must first acquire the Bamboo Missive from the White-Robed Elder. This helpful NPC can be easily located near the Cloudspire Outskirts Shrine.
When facing the shrine, turn left towards a tall tower. Behind it, a ladder awaits for players to ascend. As you climb, you will encounter the White-Robed Elder standing on the walkway. Engaging him will detail the importance of the beacons and provide you with the Bamboo Missive necessary for lighting them.
Locations of All Beacons
Finding the first beacon is a breeze; it is located at the pinnacle of the same tower where you met the White-Robed Elder. Simply climb to the top and ignite the beacon, which resembles a miniature campfire.
Before leaving this tower, take note of the surroundings to map your next journey.
To locate the second beacon, navigate northwest from the first tower to a snowy hill where the next tower is situated. Ascend to the top to light the second beacon.
The final tower can be sighted from the second, in the distance to your right. Travel towards it, which is easily accessible by heading west from the Cloudspire Outskirts Shrine.
As you pass a large tomb that’s calling forth enemies, you will arrive at the site of the third tower. Ascend once more and ignite the final beacon, thus completing the task to lower the bridge to Cloudspire.
Finding the General of the North
To confront the General of the North, head towards the Rebel Camp.
From the Cloudspire Outskirts Shrine, approach the adjacent gate and continue up the hillside. Keep left and navigate past a guard who will be firing cannonballs from above.
Upon reaching the next hilltop, look for a gate on your left and proceed through it. Continue straight ahead to reach the Rebel Camp. Follow this route, ignoring the guards shooting cannonballs, and you will find the Rebel Camp Shrine at the top of a small ladder.
If the gate to the Rebel Camp is locked, an alternate route must be taken by heading west from the Cloudspire Outskirts Shrine.
From this position, descend the ladder and travel down a gentle slope leading directly to the General of the North’s location. Note that before you can unlock the gate, you will need to obtain the Rebel Camp Key.
The Rebel Camp Key can be acquired by defeating the elite soldier positioned near the earlier mentioned Rebel Camp Shrine.
