Wuchang: Fallen Feathers offers players an intriguing narrative experience with a total of four distinct endings. True to the Soulslike genre, the game features a comprehensive true ending that weaves together its intricate story and lore, necessitating the completion of multiple questlines and the discovery of several elusive secrets.
Each ending in Wuchang is conditional upon following precise questline sequences and triggering specific events. Players must remain vigilant, as it’s all too easy to overlook crucial NPCs, miss important quests, or fail to collect vital items, which could ultimately lead to an unsatisfactory ending.
Chapter 1
Initiate Zhao Yun’s Questline

To kick off your adventure, progress normally until you reach Shu Sanctum. Here, it’s essential to converse with the White-Robed Elder, Zhao Yun, who is dozing off on the second floor next to an elder lady praying at the Buddha shrine. Doing so will trigger his questline, paving the way for your journey.
Advancing Your Journey

Continue your playthrough while actively seeking out encounters with Zhao Yun throughout your travels. His specific locations will be outlined in the accompanying questline guide. Given the extensive nature of the game, it’s advisable to level up thoroughly before confronting significant bosses. Engage in side quests and optional bosses, such as the Gluttonous Monstrosity, to gain an edge.

Your journey will eventually bring you to Tang Palace, where you’ll face Commander Honglan. Upon her defeat, you’ll be rewarded with a cutscene that concludes Chapter 1.
Chapter 2
Journey to Cloudspire

At the start of Chapter 2, you awaken at the Reverent Temple, where NPCs will guide you toward the mountain ranges, specifically Hillswatch, Cloudspire, and ultimately Mt. Zhenwu. However, steer clear of Mt. Zhenwu initially to prevent being locked out of significant questlines and the true ending.
Head directly to Cloudspire Outskirts first, then make your way to Snowfall Palace. To avoid accidental entry into Mt. Zhenwu, bypass the cave obstructed by wagons. In Hillswatch, seek out a grave marked by a blue wisp, and collect the “Shu Silk Scarf, ”which will prove crucial later on.
Be cautious and refrain from engaging Ai Nengqi, even if Nian Suichang requests assistance, as this decision could obstruct access to several NPCs in Cloudspire City. Instead, your focus should be on lowering the drawbridge by lighting three beacons across the city.

Zhao Yun can be found atop a beacon tower near the Cloudspire Outskirts. Continue progressing his questline during this part of your journey. Once the drawbridge is successfully lowered, cross it and prepare to confront the Ming General, leading you deeper into Cloudspire City.
Conclude Fang Yao’s Questline

In Cloudspire, you’ll meet Fang Yao, a girl seeking information about her missing apothecary father. After discovering his grave in Hillswatch, you can collect a scarf to bring back to her. Fang Yao will request your assistance in rescuing her sister Fang Ling, who is trapped within the depths of Snowfall Palace.
Delve Deeper into Snowfall Palace

To further Fang Yao’s questline, conquer the Mistress of the Night and continue down the dark shaft rife with unsettling remnants of human experiments.

Eventually, you’ll reunite with Fang Yao as she seeks her sister. Although visibly shaken by what she has witnessed, she remains unharmed, sharing that she and her sister used to sing a nursery rhyme together.

As you proceed, you’ll encounter He Youzai, who shares his concerns about the area. Following this, you can confront Commander Honglan; while her questline is not crucial for this ending, progressing it won’t negatively impact your journey.
Defeat the Perfect Bride

Deep within the palace, you’ll find Fang Ling, transformed into the monstrous Perfect Bride. Defeat her to free her spirit. After the battle, access the newly appeared shrine to enter the Dream, where you will encounter the Storyteller alongside Fang Yao.
Engage in dialogue with Fang Yao, who will be grieving over her sister’s fate. Continue until she rewards you with Fang Yao’s Light Gown and Hairband.
Proceed to Mt. Zhenwu

Speak with the Storyteller to receive a teleportation offering to Mt. Zhenwu. Accept, travel through the previously avoided mine shaft, and keep an ear out for Zhao Yun’s voice.

Navigate up the road fork where you will find Zhao Yun near defeated monsters. Engage in conversation and continue onward.

Continue along the path and cross the Battlefield Pass to reach the Refugee Camp, where He Youzai informs you that he has been looking after Fang Yao. Exhaust their dialogues before moving forward.
Chapter 3
Assist Zhao Yun

It is crucial to avoid entering the Refugee Camp or completing Zhenwu Temple until you have fully explored Cloudspire City and Snowfall Palace. Doing so could lock you out of important quests, ultimately hindering your progress towards the True Ending.
Zhao Yun will soon request your assistance in defeating a formidable beast; make sure to agree to help him. His questline will lead you through Avian Marsh, featuring a linear path through a lush rainforest.
Conquer the Bo Sorcerer and Complete Zhao Yun’s Questline

Your journey culminates with a confrontation against the Bo Sorcerer. While summoning Zhao Yun can be optional, it greatly simplifies the battle. Post-victory, locate Zhao Yun once again at the Tomb near the Avian Dwelling shrine to complete his questline and receive the Tigraliz Pendant as a reward.
Conclude Zhenwu Temple
With Zhao Yun’s quest concluded, feel free to tackle the remaining components of Chapter 3. Take down the South General, challenge the Fierce Tiger, and prepare to face Bai Kru.

Chapter 4
Investigate Worship’s Rise in Ruins

Upon waking at the Annalum in Worship’s Rise, you will immediately find Fang Yao and He Youzai nearby. Speaking with them will reveal that your next objective is the Reverent Temple.
You can choose to head straight to the Reverent Temple or explore your surroundings, where you can face the Nightmare Demon, encounter Honglan once again, or thwart the Bo Magus’s malign designs.
Engage with Fang Yao and He Youzai
At the Reverent Temple, find Fang Yao in the pavilion, where she provides you with the Ring of Samsara – Cause and the Research Journal – Scrap 3.
Following this, enter the temple to meet He Youzai. Hand him the Research Journal – Scrap 3 in exchange for the Ring of Samsara – Effect.

As you ascend the hill towards Burning Cave, you may encounter Xuanyangzi, who seems troubled. When given the chance, remain silent regarding the Jade Ancient Chisel, as revealing it will seal your fate into the Bad Ending.

Enter the Burning Cave and defeat the Dragon Emperor to transition into Chapter 5.
Chapter 5
Conquer Eternal Glory

After a cinematic sequence, you regain consciousness in the underground Bo Capital. Return to the Tomb near the Avian Dwelling, where you’ll confront Zhao Yun in one of the game’s most formidable battles: Eternal Glory. Defeat him to obtain the Cyan Feather Chisel.
Secret Location: Shrine Dwelling

Make your way back to the Bo Capital and explore until you reach the Capital Depths shrine with a mysterious riddle door. For access to the Shrine Dwelling area, answer with “The wheel turns anew.”
Overcome the Demon of Obsession and Merge the Rings of Samsara

In this region, you will face the magical Demon of Obsession, significantly more challenging than the Nightmare Demon. Upon defeating this boss, make your way to the altar for the pivotal choice: select “Reform causality” to combine the rings into the Ring of Samsara – Rebirth. Caution is advised, as the game allows you to consume this ring for excessive Red Mercury; resist this temptation.
Complete the Game

Continue your exploration of the Capital until you reach the Forbidden Lands, where you’ll face Feathery Ambition, and summon Duryal if needed. After dispatching Xuanyangzi, take the opportunity to resolve any unfinished business before concluding the game.
When prepared, approach the Gate of Truth and select “Enter the Realm of Dreams”to unlock the “Dream’s Sweet Deceit”ending.
