In the realm of Wuchang: Fallen Feathers, mastering your inner turmoil is essential for acquiring items, enhancing your Maddening Incense, and improving your Tempering ability. This journey doesn’t require elaborate equipment; instead, it demands that you confront and conquer your Inner Demons.
The Inner Demons are formidable opponents that strike unexpectedly, often catching you off guard and preventing you from regrouping. There are six of these hidden foes throughout the game, and locating and vanquishing them all is crucial for maximizing rewards and unlocking the Quelling Madness achievement.
Each defeated demon will reward you with a unique Stone Needle, which you can utilize in your Temperance loadout to deal varied damage types.
Location of the First Inner Demon – Annalum
Stone Needle – Agility
Your adventure begins outside of the Shu Sanctum at Worship’s Rise. Here, you will face the boss, Gluttonous Monstrosity, with a special enemy lurking in a nearby courtyard. Head left, descend the stairs, and cross the bridge to discover the Annalum Shrine.
From the shrine, cross the courtyard to another pathway that wraps behind the manor. Follow the path down the steps to reach a gazebo.
Upon approaching the gazebo, the Inner Demon will spawn. Defeating this foe grants you the Shadow Stone Needle – Agility and some Bo Blood.
Location of the Second Inner Demon – Doomwillow Beach
Stone Needle – Strength
The second Inner Demon awaits you at Doomwillow Beach. Start at the shrine and ascend the grand staircase towards Lu Mansion. After reaching the mansion shrine, descend via the elevator to encounter two hostile trees.
As you approach the trees, your Inner Demon will spawn. You can leverage the nearby trees, allowing them to engage the demon if attacked first. Defeating this demon yields the Shadow Stone Needle – Strength and additional Bo Blood.
Location of the Third Inner Demon – Refugee Camp/Zhenwu Temple
Stone Needle – Status
The third Inner Demon can be found near the Refugee Camp and Zhenwu Temple, after battling the Bo Sorcerer. Proceed to the Refugee Camp and make your way downhill, taking the rightward path.
Continue on this path until you spot a watery area outside Zhenwu Temple, where a bird enemy typically prowls. It’s wise to defeat this foe prior to tackling the Inner Demon due to its strength.
As you continue along the temple wall, the Inner Demon will make its appearance. Conquering this foe rewards you with the Status Stone Needle and more Bo Blood.
Location of the Fourth Inner Demon – Rebel Camp
Stone Needle – Magic
Commence your search at the Cloudspire Outskirts Shrine. Make your way to the house equipped with a ladder. Climb up and advance across the courtyard to reach a second house with another ladder, where you will find a pyre spawning infected enemies.
Navigate past the pyre, sticking to the left, where a hill teeming with infected enemies lies. Exercise caution as you descend, avoiding cannonball strikes.
At the base, you will see the remains of a building engulfed in flames. Approaching this site will trigger the Inner Demon to spawn, offering you the Shadow Stone Needle – Magic and additional Bo Blood upon defeat.
Location of the Fifth Inner Demon – Avian Marsh
Stone Needle – Temper
Once you’ve progressed the White-Robed Elder’s questline, head into the Avian Marsh. From the shrine, exit the shack towards a noticeable rock and take a left at the large clam.
Follow the trail of trees until you encounter a Lotus enemy. Above, a foe will be on a lower branch, usually standing on a decayed branch.
Stepping onto the decaying branch will cause it to break and drop you into a small arena below. Here the Inner Demon will spawn, granting you the Shadow Stone Needle – Temper and additional Bo Blood upon its defeat.
Location of the Sixth Inner Demon – Snowfall Palace
Stone Needle – Feathering
For the final Inner Demon, pay close attention to your surroundings to avoid missing it. Begin at the Snowfall Palace Shrine near the Mistress of the Night and proceed into the tower.
In the central room, when you first enter, you’ll notice the lift descending. After clearing the room, step onto the lift and jump off quickly. Wait for the lift to ascend, revealing a hidden lift that takes you to the lower level.
Upon reaching the lower floor, the Inner Demon will spawn, dropping more Bo Blood. Additionally, you can discover the Boreal Abyss one-handed sword here, ideal for players pursuing a magic build. You’ll also acquire the Feathering Stone Needle.
Once all Inner Demons have been defeated, you will unlock the Quelling Madness achievement. Moreover, you ought to have collected sufficient Bo Blood to finalize the upgrades at the Impetus Repository.
