Wrestling legend on Seth Rollins possibly betraying Cody Rhodes, Roman Reigns missing WrestleMania XL match (Exclusive)

Renowned wrestling journalist Bill Apter has recently pondered the possibility of major changes to WWE’s main storyline for WrestleMania XL, as he considers two major twists that could potentially alter the direction of the event.

On April 6, Cody Rhodes and Seth Rollins will team up to take on The Rock and Roman Reigns in a WrestleMania XL tag team showdown. The following day, Rhodes will then go on to challenge Reigns for the highly coveted Undisputed WWE Universal Championship.

There was speculation that Rollins’ lack of intervention during The Rock’s attack on Rhodes on RAW could suggest potential discord between the two popular wrestlers.

“At the end of it, when it went off TV, here’s the question going toward WrestleMania,”Apter said. “Seth Rollins was in that building. Why didn’t he come out and rescue Cody? That leaves a question in my mind for Cody and Seth Rollins tag-teaming.”[4:18 – 4:37]

Could The Rock step in for Roman Reigns at WrestleMania XL? Insights from Bill Apter

Despite the focus on The Rock in the lead up to WrestleMania XL, Cody Rhodes remains focused on his goal to defeat Roman Reigns and claim the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship. The American Nightmare remains determined to dethrone Reigns and is not letting any distractions derail him from his ultimate goal.

After hearing rumors of a potential major twist happening on the first night of WrestleMania XL, Bill Apter believes it is entirely possible that we could see Rhodes face off against The Rock in the ring.

“What happens if there’s a twist where Roman, night two, isn’t there to defend his title. He gets injured in the tag team match, not badly, but enough not to defend the title, and they put The Rock in against Cody, and Cody beats him and now we go to SummerSlam with Cody against Roman Reigns for the title.”[5:10 – 5:32]

SummerSlam 2024 is scheduled to take place on August 3 in Cleveland, Ohio. In order to surpass Hulk Hogan’s record of 1,474 days as a WWE world champion, Reigns must hold onto his title until September 13.
