Overview
- Players can locate Alyx in Dornogal to initiate a mystery quest for the coveted Detective title in World of Warcraft.
- Engage in a search for 11 Celebration Crates using clues provided by Alyx in the game.
- Alyx’s relocation allows players to continue earning the Detective title even after the anniversary event has concluded.
The popular MMORPG World of Warcraft has relocated Alyx, the non-playable character (NPC) responsible for the Guest Relations mystery questlines from the 20th-anniversary celebrations, to Dornogal. Here, players can still turn in the missing Celebration Crates. Although the Guest Relations quests tied to the anniversary have ended, this shift ensures that enthusiasts have a pathway to earn the Detective title—a vital step toward pursuing the highly sought-after Felcycle mount—at any time.
The 20th-anniversary festivities for World of Warcraft have concluded, wrapping up a period filled with engaging activities, special rewards, and notable buffs that attracted fans for nearly three months. With the celebrations over, the Caverns of Time have reverted to their standard state, resulting in the disappearance of NPCs and decorations associated with the event.
Amidst these changes, Alyx remains present at the hot springs located northwest of the Delver’s Headquarters in Dornogal, just before the Foundation Hall. Sporting a new title, “Volunteer Event Coordinator, Among Other Things,” Alyx comes with a board of clues that assists players in locating the Celebration Crates scattered throughout the world. By uncovering all 11 of these hidden crates and returning them to Alyx, players can unlock not only achievements such as Crate Insurance Agent and No Crate Left Behind but also the Detective title. This title opens the door for players to embark on the mystery that ultimately leads to the elusive Incognitro, the Indecipherable Felcycle mount.
How to Earn the Detective Title After the WoW Anniversary
- To initiate your quest, find Alyx, a Lightforged Draenei NPC, amidst the area between Delver’s Headquarters and the stairs leading to the Foundation Hall in Dornogal.
- Utilize the clues posted on Alyx’s board to track down all 11 missing Celebration Crates in the game.
- Note that players must achieve at least level 10 to participate in the Celebration Crate quests, but they cannot access Dornogal until reaching level 68.
- After finding six crates, players earn the Crate Insurance Agent achievement, and gathering all 11 crates grants players the No Crate Left Behind, Azeroth’s Greatest Detective achievements, alongside the Detective title.
Fans were aware that Incognitro’s associated quests would remain obtainable after the anniversary, but many players assumed they would need the Azeroth’s Greatest Detective achievement before the event’s end to secure the necessary Detective title from the Dalaran Survivor in Dornogal. Now, with Alyx set in Dornogal and the ability to exchange Celebration Crates ongoing, players can ensure they are never entirely excluded from acquiring this rare mount.
However, it’s important to note that the rest of the Guest Relations quests tied to WoW’s 20th anniversary are no longer accessible, as they were heavily reliant on the event grounds. Quests such as Assistant to the Assistant Guest Relations Manager and I Saved the Party and All I Got Were These Lousy Hats are now unobtainable, resulting in the Thinking Cap transmogs being lost as well. Although it seems doubtful that World of Warcraft will reinstate this particular storyline, there may be opportunities in the future to gain the rewards through alternative means.
