Blizzard Entertainment has announced the launch of Season of Discovery’s seventh and final phase for World of Warcraft Classic on January 28. This update promises to deliver exciting new content, featuring the Karazhan Crypts dungeon and the Scourge Invasions event. Just a week later, on February 6, players in guilds will be able to tackle the iconic Naxxramas raid, which will present fresh challenges and twists.
The commencement of Phase 7 follows just two months after Phase 6, which transported players back to Silithus for the Scepter of the Shifting Sands quest chain and the thrilling Ahn’qiraj raids. During their expeditions in Ahn’qiraj, players reported encounters with a mysterious Shadowy Figure in the desert ruins. Speculation surrounded this character’s identity, with many believing it to be Xal’atath, the primary antagonist from the upcoming expansion World of Warcraft: The War Within. However, the enigmatic NPC merely offered vague hints regarding the Old Gods throughout Phase 6. It remains uncertain whether this figure will reappear during the final phase.
Key Features in Phase 7 of Season of Discovery
- The rollout of Phase 7 starts on Tuesday, January 28, post server maintenance.
- Players will be able to experience the new Scourge Invasions event and explore the Karazhan Crypts dungeon, in addition to participating in the Naxxramas raid.
- New runes will be available via Rune Brokers located in starting zones and capital cities.
- An “Empower”difficulty setting will be introduced for the Naxxramas raid, enhancing gameplay challenges.
Upon the initiation of Phase 7, players will gain access to new runes from Rune Brokers situated in major zones and capitals. Shortly thereafter, the Naxxramas raid will be available for adventurous guilds starting February 6. Similar to the challenges faced in Ahn’qiraj, players can opt for the “Empower”difficulty level in Naxxramas, which promises to heighten the challenge. After navigating through each of the four wings of Naxxramas, players will confront the formidable final duo of Sapphiron and Kel’thuzad in the Frostwyrm Lair.
