In season 5, episode 40 of Love After Lockup, titled Exes and Oh No’s, viewers witness Troy finally meeting his 7-year-old daughter, Troii. This episode introduces Yona, Troy’s baby mama, who has previously caused friction between Troy and his current partner, Zeruiah.

In earlier episodes, Yona had accused Zeruiah of cheating on Troy while he was incarcerated, which ignited Zeruiah’s anger. Nevertheless, upon meeting Troii, Zeruiah showed kindness and encouraged the young girl to ask for anything she might need.

When Troy approached Yona with a request to take Troii to stay with them for a few days, Yona firmly declined. She insisted that Troii could only spend time with them after Troy familiarized himself with Zeruiah, whom she referred to as a “stranger,”expressing her lack of trust in Zeruiah to care for her daughter.

Zeruiah appeared to accept Troy’s perspective and expressed her willingness to support whatever he decided. The couple shared a hug and kiss as Troy asked if she trusted him.
