In a recently-released parody skit video from the ATP Tour, Andy Murray stated that he and his brother Jamie are true siblings. The British athlete also jokingly mentioned that their mother’s acting skills may not be up to par.
On February 7th of this year, the ATP Tour shared a video featuring a different version of reality in which the players assume the roles of scripted characters. The video, starring Novak Djokovic, Andy Murray, Carlos Alcaraz, and various other players, has gained almost 500,000 views since its release.
A more recent video with a similar theme has also emerged. However, the ATP Tour presented it as the outtakes, showcasing bloopers that were not included in the original video released in February.
During the video, Fraser McKnight (Andy Murray) revealed that he and Jamie are brothers in real life. He also mentioned that their mother, Judy, is an actress, although not a particularly skilled one.
“So me and Jamie are actually brothers, but the woman who plays our mother, she’s an actor, but not a very good one,”McKnight (Murray) said.
Upon seeing the post, Murray’s mother Judy responded by expressing her disappointment with a specific aspect of the video. She also conveyed her belief that both Murray and Jamie’s mother deserved an Oscar nomination for their performances.
“Disappointed with this. I thought her performances were worthy of an Oscar nomination,”she wrote on Instagram.
The response from the ATP Tour to Judy’s comment stated that McKnight (Murray) had deviated from the planned script with his remarks.
“He went completely off script with this one, we’ll have a word…”
Novak Djokovic rumored to seek coaching assistance from Judy Murray
Following Novak Djokovic’s recent announcement that Goran Ivanisevic, his coach since 2018, would no longer be a part of his coaching team, there have been rumors swirling that the 24-time Grand Slam winner is contemplating working with Judy Murray, mother of Andy Murray.
“It’s no secret that Judy Murray has a wealth of experience and knowledge in coaching, and her son Andy has been a fierce rival of Djokovic for many years. Novak is reportedly considering seeking help from Judy as he looks to make a change in his coaching setup,”a source told Marca.
Although Djokovic has not officially confirmed anything, he is expected to make his next appearance at the Rolex Monte-Carlo Masters, the first major clay court tournament of the season. This year, he has yet to secure a title and was unable to defend his Australian Open crown as he suffered a loss to Jannik Sinner in the semifinals back in January.
