Witchfire’s Webgrave Update Unveils Exciting Enhancements

The Astronauts, developers of the early access first-person fantasy shooter Witchfire, have unveiled the highly anticipated Webgrave update. This major overhaul introduces a brand-new region called Velmorne, along with an array of exciting features, including new weapons and gear for players on their quest to hunt down the Witch. The update also promises significant improvements in player onboarding, quality-of-life enhancements, and much more.

New Features and Enhanced Gameplay

Alongside the launch of the update, a new trailer has been released, highlighting the substantial changes made, particularly in player progression and build crafting mechanics. For returning players, this is a welcomed reinvigoration, but perhaps the most noteworthy aspect for newcomers is the introduction of an updated tutorial. Set in a new map before players are taken to Hermitory, this feature serves as a valuable resource for both new and returning players navigating the complexities of the game.

Increased Challenge with Gnosis VI Difficulty Level

To add to the excitement, a new difficulty level, Gnosis VI, has been introduced, elevating the stakes for seasoned players who may have breezed through the game previously. This feature is likely to heighten the adrenaline and challenge for those seeking an even more intense gameplay experience.

Witchfire first entered early access on the Epic Games Store in 2023, before making its way to Steam in September 2024. The Astronauts have consistently updated the game based on community feedback, and in the latest press release regarding the Webgrave update, co-founder and creative director Adrian Chmielarz expressed his gratitude to players for their support throughout this journey.

“Thank you to our early adopters! To all of you who have participated in our Early Access so far: Thank you very much for your help in getting us to this point. Your feedback in our official Discord and beyond has been vital!” – Adrian Chmielarz

The Path Forward for Witchfire

As Witchfire approaches its two-year anniversary in early access this coming September, the implementation of a comprehensive tutorial, along with significant enhancements to weapon and ability systems, raises anticipation. Fans are eager to learn if the studio will announce a full 1.0 release sometime next year, marking a new chapter for this captivating title.
