According to Statcounter, projections for February 2025 estimate that 38% of all Windows users will be running Windows 11, marking a significant increase. The operating system has observed a growth of 1.35 percentage points, achieving its highest market share since its launch in October 2021. Comparatively, Windows 11’s year-over-year expansion of 9.84 points underlines its rising adoption rate. For context, Windows 10 achieved this same market penetration after a two-year period.

Regional Variations in Adoption

Interest in Windows 11 varies significantly by region. For instance, in Canada, Windows 11 is closing in on Windows 10, registering at 44.46%, while Windows 10 stands at 53.35%.Meanwhile, in the United Kingdom, Windows 11 has surpassed Windows 10, capturing 50.41% of the market compared to Windows 10’s 48.18%.

Windows 10 Remains Resilient

Despite the impending end of mainstream support for Windows 10 in just seven months, it continues to dominate the market with a substantial share of 58.83%.During the same timeframe in February 2025, Windows 10 saw a minor decline of 1.5 points.

Dominance of Supported Versions

Currently, Windows 10 and Windows 11 are the only supported versions, collectively accounting for over 97% of the Windows market.
