Concurrently, numerous users of Windows 11 have expressed frustration over the lack of this functionality, which prompts speculation that Microsoft’s actions may serve to transition the feature exclusively to its newer operating system.

According to a post by user Phantomofearth on X, the latest preview builds of Windows 11 reveal intriguing developments concerning the calendar flyout clock. These builds include new options that would enable users to toggle the clock’s visibility within the notification center, suggesting a revival of this feature:

Presently, users of Windows 11 can only view the date and a standard calendar in the notification center and calendar flyout. With Windows 11 approaching its fourth anniversary, this area has been widely criticized for its lack of development. It currently lacks basic features such as event display, event addition capabilities, and a clock display. While third-party applications like Calendar Flyout offer some of these functionalities, many users are reluctant to pay for additional software when these features were previously standard.

The return of the clock to the notification center isn’t the only enhancement in the pipeline for Windows 11.
