Settings App Enhancements
- The search box in the Settings app has been repositioned to the top center, providing a more intuitive and efficient search experience.
- Fixed a crashing issue in Settings related to options under Settings > System > Power & Battery.
- Resolved a problem where apostrophes in the Settings app were displaying incorrectly, presenting random characters instead.
Boot Sound Fix
- The build addresses a bug where Windows Vista’s boot sound was mistakenly played instead of the intended Windows 11 boot sound.
Desktop Background Stability
- Improvements have been made to prevent the desktop background from turning black and ensure the expected wallpaper displays correctly.
Audio Issues Addressed
- Fixed an issue that led to audio failure shortly after casting to a TV.
Additional Fixes
- Resolved a recurring bug that caused some Insiders to experience KERNEL_SECURITY_CHECK_FAILURE following an upgrade, particularly when connected to a VPN.
- Corrected an issue resulting in transparent acrylic backgrounds in certain applications.
- Addressed display problems in Group Policy Editor when viewed in specific languages, such as Chinese, which resulted in large blank areas.

As with any Canary build, there are some known bugs to be aware of:

General Alerts
- Important for Copilot+ Users: Switching to the Canary Channel on a new Copilot+ PC from the Dev or Release Preview Channels may cause users to lose their Windows Hello PIN and biometric login capabilities, displaying the error code 0xd0000225. Users can reset their PIN by selecting “Set up my PIN.”
- A new issue has been reported where the progress wheel may appear as a rectangle glyph instead of its usual rendering during the build upgrade.
