Recently, Microsoft rolled out a new Beta channel build that signifies this update. Users who frequently utilize the dark mode in Windows 11 will now notice that when they activate the Run dialog box—whether using the Win + R command or other methods—it harmonizes with the dark theme. The top section now showcases a deep black hue while the lower area offers a softer gray tone, ultimately enhancing visual comfort.

While this change marks a positive step toward improved accessibility, it’s clear that there’s still work to be done. For instance, the Control Panel and many applets do not conform to the dark mode, and key elements like File Explorer’s Properties still appear stark white even when dark mode is activated. Unfortunately, this means that a true system-wide dark mode experience remains elusive, even after adjusting the settings. However, with this update, one less element will clash with user preferences.

It’s essential to note that this rollout is gradual, and users may not see these enhancements until after they install the KB5067103 update. Despite the challenges, the evolution of the Windows 11 interface is ongoing—nearly four years since its debut, Microsoft strives for a polished user experience. As Windows 10 phases out, there may be greater opportunities to finalize a comprehensive dark mode feature in the coming year. The latest Beta build also introduces additional Copilot+ PC-specific features.

For example, if you activated Do Not Disturb mode recently, a direct option will allow you to switch it back on or off effortlessly.
