Updates are now available for users participating in the Windows 10 Release Preview, as well as those on the Windows 11 Beta Channel. Specifically, Windows 11 build 22631.4825 (KB5050092) has been released for testers in the Windows 11 Release Preview Channel, introducing several enhancements and fixes.

    Users will notice improved previews when hovering over taskbar applications, along with enhanced animations.

    A new system tray icon will now appear for applications that support Windows Studio Effects on devices equipped with neural processing units (NPUs). Hovering over this icon provides a tooltip displaying which application is utilizing the camera.

  • [Cross-Device Functionality]

    Enhanced integration allows users to continue working on Microsoft OneDrive files from their PCs after accessing them on iOS or Android devices while the PC is locked. To utilize this feature, ensure that you log into both devices with the same Microsoft account. Compatibility extends to Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneNote, and PDF files.

  • [New Font Addition]

    The update introduces a new simplified Chinese font, Simsun-ExtG, which includes over 9,700 ideographs supporting Unicode Extensions G, H, and I. The ranges for these extensions are as follows:

    • Unicode range G: 30000-3134A (4,939 characters)
    • Unicode range H: 31350-323AF (4,192 characters)
    • Unicode range I: 2EBF0-2EE5D (622 characters)
  • [File Explorer Updates]
    • New Shared Items Tab: Access files, emails, Teams chats, and other shared content easily by signing in with a Microsoft account.
    • Context Menu Enhancements: The “New Folder”option is now readily available when right-clicking in the left pane.
    • Bug Fixes: Issues such as repeated searches, incorrect file date updates, and unresponsive search boxes have been addressed.
  • [Windows Share Improvements]

    Users can now share files directly to compatible applications by right-clicking on them in File Explorer or on the desktop.

    • New Shortcuts: Quickly toggle between current and 1X zoom with CTRL + ALT + Minus sign.

  • [WARP Support for HEIF]

    This update adds support for Y210, Y216, Y410, and Y416 HEIF formats in the Windows Advanced Rasterization Platform.

  • [Kernel Vulnerability Patch]

    Additional drivers have been added to the blocklist to protect against Bring Your Own Vulnerable Driver (BYOVD) attacks.
