Windows 11 Canary Builds Expected to Make a Comeback Next Week
Microsoft has recently provided updates regarding the Canary Channel within the Windows Insider Program. It has been four weeks since the last preview build from this “freshest”channel, and there is optimism that next week might finally deliver a new build for Windows Insiders to explore.
Brandon LeBlanc, Senior Program Manager for the Windows Insider Program Team, responded to a user expressing concerns about the absence of recent builds in the Canary Channel. According to Brandon, the team is diligently working on a new build but requires “one more”(likely another week). While he did not disclose the specific reasons behind the prolonged delay, it is probably due to ongoing bug fixes:
We’re working on it! We thought we had fixed the bugs we needed to fix but need one more – feeling hopeful about getting a Canary build out next week 🤞

It’s important to note that there is no assurance that Windows Insiders will receive a new Canary build next week, and there remains a possibility of facing another week without a build. Nevertheless, the situation seems more promising—at least now we have insights from the Windows Insider Team regarding the current status.
The last Windows 11 preview build released in the Canary Channel occurred on August 30, 2024, indicating that next week will mark one full month without any new updates. Build 27695 introduced an updated position for widgets on devices with a left-aligned taskbar, improvements to the Windows Local Administrator Password Solution (LAPS), enhanced notifications, File Explorer fixes, and more. Subsequently, Microsoft also updated the release notes to include information on a revamped user interface for displaying Wi-Fi passwords.
