Windows 11 24H2 LTSC images leak ahead of official announcement
The initial Windows 11 LTSC image has recently surfaced online. Photos of the upcoming release, with the build number 26100.1, were shared by someone, making it possible for those who are willing to take the risk to test the operating system before its official unveiling and release.
For those who are not familiar, LTSC stands for Long-Term Servicing Channel. Windows 11 has yet to receive its initial LTSC build, which will receive five years of active support instead of the usual two years in consumer versions. LTSC versions prioritize stability, giving users the option to postpone feature updates and only install essential security patches (released monthly).
In late 2023, Microsoft officially announced that Windows 11 would receive an LTSC release. However, the company has yet to make a public announcement.
The leaked build can be obtained from the Internet Archive by downloading it here. However, it is important to note the potential security risks associated with installing unofficial software. Proceed at your own discretion.
