Microsoft has released the February 2025 non-security updates for Windows 11 version 24H2. Users of earlier versions of Windows 11 and those on Windows 10 can find relevant information via their respective articles. The latest update, KB5052093, designated with the build number 26100.3323, addresses numerous bugs affecting system functionality including errors in Task Manager, File Explorer, audio issues, and more.

Key Changes and Improvements Included in the Update

  • Task Manager: Corrected an issue where HDDs were misidentified as SSDs.

  • Start Menu: Corrected color display issues when accessing the account management menu under mixed light and dark modes.
  • Audio:
    • Fixed volume surge to 100% upon waking the PC from sleep.
    • Corrected repetitive mute and unmute sounds.
    • Resolved issues with USB audio devices becoming unresponsive after a period of inactivity.
  • Camera Enhancements:
    • New multi-app camera feature allows simultaneous access for multiple applications, benefiting users with hearing disabilities.
    • Introduced a basic camera mode for improved troubleshooting.

  • Get Help App: Resolved opening failures in Windows Server 2025.
  • Settings App: Fixed memory reference errors that caused it to stop functioning.

Known Issues

Some ongoing issues with KB5052093 are documented, including installation challenges for security updates on systems equipped with specific Citrix components, as well as complications with Roblox on PCs utilizing ARM processors. Microsoft is actively investigating these matters, which first surfaced with the launch of version 24H2 in October 2024.
