Windows 10 22H2 Beta Build 19045.5070 (KB5045594) and Release Preview Now Available

Microsoft has rolled out the Release Preview and Beta build 19045.5070 of Windows 10 22H2, tagged as KB5045594, for participants in the Windows Insider Program in those specific channels. Members of the Insider community in the Beta Channel can explore several new features that will not be accessible to all Windows 10 users right away.

Upcoming enhancements for Windows Insiders in the Beta Channel of Windows 10

[Settings]

  • In Settings > System > About, users will now encounter a revamped layout featuring new primary cards that showcase essential hardware specifications of their devices. These cards aim to keep users informed about the critical aspects of their hardware. Additionally, FAQs have been incorporated within this page to enhance your understanding of your device. These FAQs will clarify current hardware specifications and their impact on device performance, thereby enabling users to optimize their systems effectively.

Insiders on the Beta Channel wishing to receive features as they are progressively released can activate the toggle for immediate updates through Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update. Over time, the rollout of features will extend to all users who have this toggle enabled. If you opt not to enable this toggle, new features will eventually be deployed to your device as they become available.

This update presents several features and enhancements for Windows Insiders in BOTH the Beta and Release Preview Channels

Bolded terms in brackets identify the area of the update being referenced:

[Start menu] New! This update initiates the rollout of an enhanced account manager within the Start menu. The revamped design facilitates account viewing and access to settings. To switch users, simply click the ellipses (…) next to Sign out. The Lock option is now available in the power menu. Note: This feature may not be available to all users immediately due to the phased rollout.

[vmswitch] Fixed: A stop error triggered by vmswitch occurs when employing Load Balancing and Failover (LBFO) teaming with two virtual switches on a virtual machine (VM), specifically when one switch implements single root Input/Output virtualization (SR-IOV).

[Upgrade to Windows 11] Fixed: Resolved a race condition that resulted in stop error 0x3B during the upgrade from Windows 10 to Windows 11.

[Product activation phone numbers] Fixed: Newly added phone numbers for several regions.

[Multi-Function Printer (MFP)]

  • Fixed: Corrected an issue where, when connected via USB, specific network command text was printed unnecessarily.
  • Fixed: Resolved a problem where a scanner driver could not be installed when connecting an MFP via USB.

[Country and Operator Settings Asset (COSA)] Fixed: Updated profiles for specific mobile operators.

[WebView2 apps] Fixed: Resolved issues where input from Xbox 360 and Bluetooth controllers was not detected.
