Will Silent Hill 2 Remake Be Available on Steam Deck?

The Silent Hill 2 Remake is set to launch worldwide on October 8, 2024. Players on PC and PS5 can now place pre-orders for this highly anticipated title. Additionally, a deluxe edition will be available, offering two days of early access to the latest chapter in the iconic psychological horror series.

With the widespread popularity of Valve’s Steam Deck, many players may be curious about the game’s compatibility with the handheld console. Although the official Steam page has yet to confirm this, some sources indicate that the game reportedly performs well on the Steam Deck.

Silent Hill 2 Remake Achieves Solid Performance on Steam Deck

According to a report by MeriStation/AS, the Silent Hill 2 Remake showed reasonable performance in tests conducted on the Steam Deck. With FSR 1.0 active, the game was reportedly able to hit 30 FPS at a 1280 x 800 resolution. By adjusting the graphical settings to lower options, it is believed to run between 40 to 60 FPS.

If this information holds true, it suggests that even with the Steam Deck’s hardware limitations in handling a performance-intensive title built on Unreal Engine 5, the game performs surprisingly well.

Currently, there has been no official confirmation regarding Steam Deck compatibility on the game’s official Steam page. However, it’s plausible that confirmation could emerge closer to the game’s release. Until then, please be aware that without an official statement from Valve or Bandai Namco, these expectations remain speculative.
