Will Regé-Jean Page Return to ‘Bridgerton’? Hope for His Comeback Lives On!

Regé-Jean Page captured the hearts of audiences with his portrayal of Simon Basset, the Duke of Hastings, in the popular Netflix series *Bridgerton*.However, since the conclusion of its first season, his character seems to have mysteriously disappeared from the narrative.

Interestingly, Daphne Bridgerton, played by Phoebe Dynevor, made a brief appearance in the second season but was notably absent from the third. In her comeback, Daphne offered some explanations for Simon’s off-screen absence, but fans couldn’t overlook the palpable chemistry that once existed between the two characters. Their dynamic in Season 1 left a lasting impression, and many viewers are left wondering why the Duke is largely absent from subsequent storylines.

The official *Bridgerton* Instagram account shared a letter addressing Page’s departure, stating: “While all eyes turn to Lord Anthony Bridgerton’s quest to find a Viscountess, we bid adieu to Regé-Jean Page, who so triumphantly played the Duke of Hastings.” The letter clarified that Simon had not been written off through death and reaffirmed Daphne’s status as a “devoted wife and sister.” This raises the question: will Page ever reprise his role as Simon Basset?

In a recent 2023 interview, Regé-Jean Page confirmed that he committed to only one season of *Bridgerton* before moving on to explore other creative projects. He has expressed little interest in returning to the series, yet fans remain optimistic about a possible comeback. After all, cinematic history has examples, such as Meryl Streep, who famously broke her own rule against sequels for a brief yet memorable return in *Mamma Mia: Here We Go Again!*, effortlessly delivering an emotional moment alongside Amanda Seyfried.

Will Simon Basset Appear in Season Four of *Bridgerton*?

The chances of seeing Simon Basset in the fourth season appear slim. Page has not hinted at a resurgence in the series, noting, “It’s not something I thought about very much, ” during a conversation with *Entertainment Tonight*.He was further queried about the potential for a cameo, to which he vaguely remarked, “I think it’s one of those moments where I’m happy to support everyone who’s in the show.”

It appears that *Bridgerton* enthusiasts should temper their expectations regarding a surprise return akin to Meryl Streep’s cameo, as Page’s future involvement in the series seems unlikely at this point.
