Why ‘Thunderbolts’ Should Emulate This Iconic Scene from a 2014 Movie

Anticipating Marvel’s Thunderbolts: A Breathtaking Musical Experience

As a devoted fan of Yelena Belova, aptly portrayed by Florence Pugh, my excitement for the upcoming Marvel film Thunderbolts is palpable. The recently released Super Bowl trailer has sparked my interest further, particularly with its compelling choice of soundtrack, which evokes memories of the dynamic duo from a beloved film featuring Bill Hader and Kristen Wiig.

Diving into the Trailer’s Intriguing Themes

The trailer offers a lot to dissect, a sentiment echoed by many observant fans. One hot topic is the potential introduction of the Void variant of Sentry, alongside the dark implications this brings to the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU).Additionally, I find Yelena’s remarks—expressing that none of these so-called “heroes” possess the ability to fly but instead rely on combat and firearms—thought-provoking. However, rather than rehashing common theories, I wish to share my aspirations for the Thunderbolts film.

A Nostalgic Soundtrack Choice

The trailer features an invigorating rendition of “Nothing’s Gonna Stop Us Now” by Starship. Considering Yelena’s fondness for classic rock (let’s not forget her affection for Don McLean’s “American Pie”), the choice of music beautifully aligns with her character’s personality and the film’s overall feel.

Central Characters: Yelena and Bucky’s Journey

It appears that the storyline is primarily centered on Yelena and Bucky Barnes (played by Sebastian Stan).Although the entire ensemble is crucial to the narrative, their prominence in the trailer suggests a deeper exploration of their characters. If this results in memorable musical moments like “Nothing’s Gonna Stop Us Now, ” then I’m all for it!

Hopes for Team Bonding

This nostalgic song has significant meaning for me, particularly because it was featured in the critically acclaimed film Skeleton Twins, where siblings Milo (Bill Hader) and Maggie (Kristen Wiig) reconnect during a challenging period in their lives. As they share a moment performing this song, it beautifully encapsulates their emotional journey. Just imagine a similar scene in Thunderbolts, with characters like John Walker (Wyatt Russell) and Ghost (Hannah John-Kamen) joining in for a hilarious sing-along led by Alexei (David Harbour).

The Marvel Music Connection

I have always appreciated Marvel’s effective use of music to enhance storytelling. The incorporation of 70s hits in Avengers: Endgame and Yelena’s connection to Don McLean’s tunes demonstrate the studio’s commitment to creating an immersive experience. Although we are yet to discover the full soundtrack for Thunderbolts, the selection thus far certainly promises a thrilling auditory experience.

Let’s not forget the impressive first trailer that featured “Where Is My Mind” by the Pixies. It left an unforgettable impression. As fans, we can only hope that when Thunderbolts finally arrives in theaters later this year, we witness our favorite characters rocking out to some extraordinary tracks!
