Angela Deem has firmly established herself as one of the most controversial figures in the 90 Day Fiancé series. Despite her tumultuous storyline, many fans, including myself, believe she could bring a captivating and entertaining dynamic to future spin-offs. At over 50 years old, Angela found love with her younger Nigerian husband, Michael Ilesanmi. Excited by their relationship, she traveled to Nigeria, only to face unexpected challenges due to Michael’s actions. Her heartbreak deepened when she uncovered that he had been seeing another woman while they were together.
The couple tied the knot in January 2020, alongside Angela’s hopes of securing Michael’s spousal visa so he could join her in the United States. However, their relationship deteriorated as Angela grew frustrated and distressed over Michael’s persistent demands for money and his online interactions with other women. Despite having numerous reasons to end their tumultuous marriage, Angela welcomed Michael to the U. S.in December 2023, only for him to abandon her shortly thereafter, shifting the blame onto her instead.
Angela Was Never Given a Fair Chance by Cheater Michael
Angela Was Provoked by Michael’s Actions
Initially, I perceived Michael as a genuinely kind-hearted person who loved Angela for her true self. However, my perspective shifted drastically as stories of his infidelity and questionable behavior emerged. It became evident that Angela’s anger throughout their relationship stemmed from Michael’s betrayals and manipulation. His primary goal seemed to leverage their marriage for his immigration ambitions rather than genuine affection.
Angela’s journey on television often felt one-dimensional due to her circumstances. Michael’s ongoing deceit transformed her behavior and led her to come off as erratic on screen. Yet, I believe that if given another chance in a different spin-off, Angela could present her authentic persona, showcasing the growth she’s achieved since Michael’s departure. Today, she appears more resilient and in a better emotional state.

Angela Will Be a Great Wife Too

As Angela continues her journey, a new on-screen narrative could illuminate her path toward redemption. Her potential return to the franchise might afford her the opportunity to redefine her image, winning over critics and demonstrating growth beyond her previous outbursts. Many of her former co-stars appreciate her genuine nature and the love she shows her grandchildren, who clearly admire her.
Angela is a Powerhouse of Entertainment
Angela Captivates the Audience Through Her Actions
Angela has consistently proven to be a magnetic presence on camera, often standing out amid a roster of other dramatic figures in the franchise, such as Loren Brovarnik and Yara Zaya. I firmly believe that the producers of 90 Day Fiancé would significantly benefit from including Angela in a spin-off like 90 Day: The Single Life. This would allow her to explore new facets of her personality while keeping viewers entertained.
Angela’s unique brand of drama has made countless scenes memorable, often inspiring viral memes on social media. While many viewers hold negative feelings toward her antics, I argue that she deserves a chance to demonstrate that her past behavior was born from the turmoil of her relationship with Michael, rather than an inherent flaw in her character.
90 Day Fiancé season 11 is set to premiere on February 16 at 8 p.m. EST on TLC.
