Lasheena Weekly, the mother of late rapper FBG Duck (real name Carlton Weekly), has voiced her criticism towards Lil Durk regarding a tribute he paid to her son over the weekend. On Monday, October 21, 2024, she shared a heartfelt post on Instagram featuring a photo of FBG Duck along with a caption urging his supporters to use the hashtag #DUCKDIDITFIRST and to share the image if they believe his tribute was not genuine.

Weekly’s comments came in response to Lil Durk’s First Annual Birthday Bash that occurred on Sunday, where he incorporated a tribute section featuring images of rappers who have passed away in the last ten years, including King Von, Juice WRLD, and FBG Duck.

The unexpected appearance of Duck’s image startled numerous online users, especially considering the longstanding rivalry that existed between the two rappers prior to Duck’s death in 2020. Reports suggest that both artists engaged in gang-related activities.

As Lasheena Weekly’s public outcry regarding the Backdoor hitmaker gained traction, reactions surfaced across social media platforms. Some users criticized her stance, pointing out that she seemed to overlook her son’s involvement in gang violence as well.

Others noted that after Lil Durk made peace through his track “Chicago Legends,”FBG Duck swiftly responded by releasing a diss track targeting Durk. Here are additional comments seen beneath her post:

FBG Duck’s Mother Initiates Wrongful Death Lawsuit Against Lil Durk

On October 9, 2024, Lasheena Weekly filed a lawsuit against Lil Durk, the estate of King Von, and several others, asserting that they bore responsibility for her son’s death that occurred in August 2020.

For context, FBG Duck was fatally shot while shopping in the Gold Coast area of Chicago with his son. According to a report from the Chicago Sun-Times in January 2024, six individuals associated with the O Block gang (a faction of the Black Disciples) were charged in connection to the rapper’s murder. Prosecutors linked this shooting to an ongoing feud between O Block and the Tookaville faction of the Gangster Disciples, to which FBG Duck belonged.

The Chicago Sun-Times noted that there was a history of animosity between Duck and King Von, with numerous diss tracks exchanged between the two. The situation escalated in 2020 when FBG Duck released a song titled “Dead B,”which called out deceased members of O Block. Prosecutors alleged that Von placed a bounty on Duck’s head, valued at $100,000.

It is worth mentioning that King Von was killed in an unrelated incident just a few months after FBG Duck’s death.

Weekly’s attorney, Roosevelt Allen, expressed in a statement to the Chicago Sun-Times that the incident represented “a brazen act of violence.”He argued that the six defendants charged earlier were merely “pawns in a larger scheme driven by Lil Durk, his record label, and their associated labels, prioritizing profit over human life.”He further stated that although King Von may have ordered the bounty, Lil Durk was “the mastermind behind these events.”

The other defendants encompassed Durk, King Von’s record label, the city of Chicago, Dolce & Gabbana (where Duck was shopping), two private security companies, and the six individuals convicted in his murder.

Chicago is included as a defendant in the lawsuit due to allegations of willful misconduct, claiming that FBG Duck was left without medical attention for 17 minutes while lying injured on the sidewalk. The lawsuit criticizes both Dolce & Gabbana and the security measures in place at the Gold Coast location for not ensuring adequate safety protocols.

As of now, Lil Durk has not publicly commented on the Instagram post made by Lasheena Weekly.
