Snoop Dogg and Denzel Washington Collaborate on a Documentary and Biopic about Harry-O Harris
In a separate development, Michael “Harry-O” Harris, co-founder of the iconic Death Row Records, recently shared in an interview with AllHipHop on October 20, 2024, that Snoop Dogg and renowned actor Denzel Washington are teaming up to produce what Harris described as the “most comprehensive documentaries”about Death Row and his transformative journey.
Harris confirmed that Snoop Dogg would act as a producer for a documentary centered on his life, while Washington will take the lead in creating a biopic chronicling the story of the Death Row co-founder.
In the interview, Harris elaborated on the production’s progress and the motivation behind these film endeavors:
“We’re just trying to determine the best way to present this to the public. But that story is coming, and I feel blessed to have individuals who believe that my story has value. We’re working on whether it should be a series or another format because we have some incredible insights to share.”
Currently, Harris holds the position of COO at the revitalized Death Row Records, which is owned by Snoop Dogg.
In February 2022, Snoop Dogg purchased Death Row Records from the MNRK Group, aiming to breathe new life into the label that played a pivotal role in the rise of gangster rap during the 90s. He described this acquisition as a “significant moment”in his career, having recorded numerous hits while being part of Death Row Records.
