“Why did she leave the camp?” – Superbon doesn’t think Denice Zamboanga can beat Stamp Fairtex

Superbon predicts that Stamp Fairtex, a fellow Thai superstar, will emerge victorious against Denice Zamboanga in their upcoming title fight scheduled for later this year.

Stamp’s upcoming ONE 167 fight in Bangkok, Thailand will mark her first defense of the atomweight MMA world title. She will face off against her former training center teammate and friend, Zamboanga, in this highly anticipated bout.

It will signify the three-sport world champion’s comeback to the ring following her victory in September over South Korean contender Ham Seo Hee, in which she claimed the vacant atomweight MMA championship belt with a third-round TKO.

When approached by the South China Morning Post for his opinion on the Stamp-Zamboanga title fight, Superbon confidently stated that he believes Stamp will come out victorious against ‘The Menace’. He emphasized that Stamp has always been more dominant than Zamboanga, even during their time as teammates, which may have influenced Zamboanga’s decision to leave their gym.

Superbon stated:

“From my experience, I see a lot of friends that train together in Thailand, and they fight each other. But 90 percent, who is the biggest athlete in the gym, who is the biggest in the world, is still the winner.”

In addition, he stated:

“If Denice can beat her in the camp, she is going to beat her in the stadium in the ring. But if she can beat Stamp in the camp, why did she leave the camp?”

Stamp’s victory in her last fight secured her the vacant ONE atomweight MMA world title, making her a three-sport world champion. Prior to this accomplishment, she had already held the Muay Thai and kickboxing championship belts in the same division.

On the other hand, Zamboanga is finally getting the chance to compete for a world title, and she intends to use her consecutive wins as a stepping stone towards achieving it.

Superbon aims to reclaim world champion title

Although Superbon is curious about what his ONE teammates are working towards, he remains focused on his goal of reclaiming the world champion title and will not let their progress distract him.

The 33-year-old Thai star will compete for the interim ONE featherweight kickboxing world championship at ONE Friday Fights 58 on April 5 in Bangkok, Thailand. He will face his familiar opponent Marat Grigorian from Armenia in a rematch of their closely contested match two years ago.

Superbon is determined to secure a victory and ultimately earn a chance to unify the titles against current champion Chingiz Allazov. Allazov previously defeated Superbon in January of last year with a powerful second-round knockout, making him the featherweight kickboxing champion.

Superbon Training Camp standout, who had previously fallen short in his attempt to capture the ONE featherweight Muay Thai world title in December, suffering a majority decision loss to world champion Tawanchai PK Saenchai, is determined to make a comeback at ONE Friday Fights 58.

Despite losing twice before, first to Superbon in March 2022 and then to Allazov in August last year, Grigorian remains determined to make it third time lucky in his pursuit of a world title.

His most recent fight was in January, during which he achieved a remarkable third-round knockout against Thai opponent Sittichai Sitsongpeenong.

ONE Friday Fights 58 will be broadcasted live on April 5 from the Lumpinee Boxing Stadium through a global pay-per-view on
