In the narrative titled “Livin’ Free,”crafted by Jeremy Adams and Lucas Meyer, we find Green Arrow and Green Lantern embarking on a cross-country trip when they unexpectedly face an assault from the notorious Deathstroke. Following a narrow escape, Green Arrow rushes Green Lantern to the nearest location for medical assistance, as he suffers from a gunshot wound.
Their journey leads them to a convenience store, where a clerk is engrossed in a comic book. This particular series, intriguingly titled “Absolute Demon,”features a striking cover showcasing a muscular Etrigan dressed in a suit that humorously echoes the iconic pose of Bruce Wayne on the cover of Absolute Batman #1.

A Lighthearted Joke or a Multiversal Prophecy?
Following a significant separation of the DC Universe from the broader multiverse, Darkseid spiraled into madness, attempting to alter the cosmic hierarchy by forming a bond with the Spectre. The resulting amalgamation posed a severe threat to the Justice League, ultimately leading to Darkseid’s physical demise and his energy surging through dimensional barriers to coalesce on a younger, more impressionable Earth. This setting gave birth to the Absolute Universe, an alternate realm reflective of Darkseid’s ideologies, characterized by chaos and struggle. Consequently, its heroes endure challenges that strip away their comforts, demanding extraordinary resilience as they strive to embody hope and heroism.
Across DC Comics history, the meta-narrative often positions comics as gateways to parallel worlds. During the Silver Age, the character Barry Allen discovered the Golden Age Flash’s adventures were also reflected in his own comics. This concept was revisited in the Multiversity, where characters routinely engaged with comics from alternate Earths. If the portrayal in “Absolute Demon”holds truth, it stands as the inaugural indication of an Absolute Etrigan’s existence. Fans are left pondering when and if they will encounter this new conceptualization of the DC Universe’s demon hero.
