Siliconera Discusses Potential Sims Game Remasters

In light of the successful re-releases of The Sims’ first two titles and the return of the MySims games, it’s time to set sights on what EA might do next. A personal favorite that deserves a revival is The Urbz: Sims in the City. This exuberant plunge into early 2000s aesthetics brought unique gameplay experiences centered around reputation-building in distinct urban districts. Its flair and innovative mechanics stand out from traditional entries in the series, making it a prime candidate for remastering on modern consoles. If lesser-known titles like MySims can be brought back, then the vibrant world of The Urbz certainly warrants a second chance. Additionally, a resurgence of older SimCity installments holds a special place in my heart, as they were my gateway into this expansive franchise during my childhood.— Cody

It’s reassuring to know that fellow fans recall the charm of The Urbz. I thoroughly enjoyed the game growing up, particularly its exploration of various subcultures and urban styles, which felt far more engaging than the typical suburban settings in other Sims installments. Plus, the soundtrack was incredibly catchy. However, acquiring the necessary licensing for the music could present a challenge.— Elliot
