Plot Overview

The narrative centers around Walt (Shameik Moore), a quirky yet inherently skilled bowler who finds himself employed at the struggling bowling alley, AlleyCatz. After recognizing his extraordinary bowling talent, Walt quickly rises to fame within his community.

When his manager, Mozell, reveals the staggering $200,000 needed to renovate AlleyCatz and save it from closure, Walt takes it upon himself to compete in professional tournaments, hoping to secure the funds through prize winnings.

Walt’s journey sees him partnering with Skunk (D’Arcy Carden), a former pro bowler battling personal demons, and Brother Candy (Rell Battle), a street preacher, as he embarks on his mission. Showcasing his flair, Walt takes to the lanes dressed as his favorite rapper, gaining sponsorships, including from Spicy Hot Milk.

However, he faces fierce competition from Linda Curson (Susan Sarandon), a formidable retired champion whose disdain for Walt’s boisterous personality poses a significant challenge. Will Walt master his skills to claim victory, or will his flamboyant demeanor hinder his success?
