What is Beetlejuice Beetlejuice About?

Beetlejuice Beetlejuice unfolds 36 years after the events of the first film. Lydia Deetz has become a mother and currently hosts a supernatural talk show titled “Ghost House.”Since the passing of her former husband, Richard, in the Amazon, she has been estranged from her daughter, Astrid.

During an episode of her show, Lydia begins to hallucinate and encounters Betelgeuse, the restless ghost who once sought to marry her. This prompts Lydia and Astrid to return to Winter River following a family tragedy. The situation escalates when Astrid inadvertently opens a portal to the Afterlife, reintroducing Betelgeuse back into their lives.

The narrative further explores the delicate relationship between Lydia and Astrid amidst the chaos unleashed by Betelgeuse’s return. The film also features familiar characters like Delia Deetz, an art gallery owner, and new additions such as Lydia’s manager Rory and Betelgeuse’s ex-wife, Delores.
