Actors Tang Jun-sang and Nam Da-reum are set to take center stage in the upcoming KBS2 series, ‘Drama Special 2024’, launching with the one-act play titled The History of Us. Scheduled to premiere on November 5, this highly anticipated drama boasts an impressive lineup, including Yoon Na-mu and Choi Hee-jin, as reported by Naver.

The History of Us explores a captivating ideological conflict between a young cadet and a crown prince. The cadet is fiercely committed to conserving historical records, while the crown prince aims to obliterate them to solidify his power.

Nam Yeo-gang, portrayed by Jun-sang, serves as the second-ranking censor at the Yemun Hall. Recognized for his intellectual demeanor, Yeo-gang becomes a historian out of loyal devotion to an individual. In contrast, the astute and highly skilled crown prince of Joseon, played by Da-reum, endeavors to erase his identity, known as ‘Im-o-nyeon’, which tarnishes his quest for a flawless reputation, although Yeo-gang’s resolve challenges this plan.

The excitement around this forthcoming drama has intensified following the unveiling of its inaugural poster by KBS on October 9.

Everything You Need to Know About the Cast of The History of Us

In this intriguing narrative, Tang Jun-sang takes on the pivotal role of Nam Yeo-gang. Hailing from a mixed heritage with a Malaysian-Chinese father and a Korean mother, Jun-sang was born in Seoul. He embarked on his acting journey at the tender age of seven in the musical Billy Elliot (2010) and has since graced various renowned musicals, including Eileigh Seabed, West Pyeonje, Kinky Boots, and Assassin. Tang eventually transitioned to television, gaining acclaim for his leading role in Racket Boys.

Nam Da-reum, the other lead actor, began his career as a child star and gained widespread recognition for his role in Beautiful World. He has also showcased his talent in well-loved dramas such as Boys Over Flowers, Guardian: The Lonely and Great God, Pinocchio, Rain or Shine, The King in Love, While You Were Sleeping, Come and Hug Me, Radio Romance, Start-up, and Doom at Your Service. After completing his military service, Nam Da-reum will portray the role of the ambitious crown prince in this new drama.

The supporting cast of The History of Us includes Yoon Na-mu as Shin Hee-soo, a dedicated scribe burdened with her responsibilities, and Choi Hee-jin as Hye-bin Hong, the protective mother of the crown prince. The cast is further enriched by special appearances from Seo Jin-won as the Left State Councilor and Jo Han-cheol as the king, the crown prince’s father.
