What are Kyrie Irving’s Ramadan stats in 2024? Looking at Mavericks star’s performance in holy month
Despite observing Ramadan and fasting for 18 hours every day, NBA player Kyrie Irving has shown no decline in his performances since Mar. 10. He has played nine games for the Dallas Mavericks during this time period, and his stat sheet remains impressively strong.
Since Irving began observing Ramadan, he has played in every game for his team. Additionally, it appears that Irving’s fasting during the holy month has brought good fortune to the Mavericks, who have only suffered one loss.
During this time frame, Irving’s initial match was against the Chicago Bulls on Mar. 11. In the game, he registered 14 points in just 27 minutes. Throughout the nine games, Irving and his team faced the Utah Jazz and the Sacramento Kings twice each, emerging victorious in all four matches.
Out of their last five games, the team has faced the OKC Thunder, Bulls, Denver Nuggets, San Antonio Spurs, and the Golden State Warriors. Although Irving scored 36 points, their sole defeat was at the hands of the Thunder.
Ever since Kyrie Irving began observing Ramadan this season, his statistics have remained impressive, with an average of 24.7 points on 51.8% shooting and 35.6% shooting from beyond the arc. Additionally, he has recorded 6.3 assists and 4.8 rebounds in nine games during this period.
Luka Doncic Embraces Role as Robin to Kyrie Irving’s Batman
Despite his undeniable talent, Kyrie Irving has never held the role of the primary superstar on any team, with the exception of his time with the Boston Celtics. Throughout his career, he has consistently played second fiddle to LeBron James in Cleveland and Kevin Durant in Brooklyn.
In Dallas, Luka Doncic is often seen as the main figure, but he has rejected this label. Following the Mavericks’ victory over the Sacramento Kings on Wednesday, Doncic declared that Irving holds the top spot on the team.
When Doncic was compared to Superman and Irving to Batman by a reporter, he responded by saying that he is the Robin.
“He’s (Kyrie) the Batman, I’m the Robin,”Doncic said. “Nah, just amazing, man. Every guy on our team is amazing. He’s just a great person. We get along so well. The chemistry is really good right now.”
In the past few games, both Irving and Doncic have been exceptional players for the Mavericks. The Dallas Mavericks have maintained a perfect record of 6-0 in their last six games, defeating the Sacramento Kings twice and the Denver Nuggets in this streak.
Despite Kyrie Irving’s average of 25.0 points, 5.0 assists, and 4.2 rebounds in the last five games, Doncic has been dominating with an average of 29.4 points, 10.2 assists, and 9.7 rebounds in the past 10 games. Currently, the Mavericks are ranked sixth in the Western Conference, with the Suns trailing just one game behind in seventh place.
