Wendy Williams Addresses Diddy’s Sexual Assault Investigation: “It is About Time”

In an interview with the Daily Mail on October 1, Wendy Williams addressed Diddy’s recent arrest and ongoing legal troubles, referencing a viral video that surfaced months ago depicting him allegedly assaulting his ex-girlfriend, Cassie, in a hotel lobby.

Wendy Williams stated:

“You know how I feel about that? It is about time. To see this video on TV of Cassie getting pummeled… it was just horrific. But now you have to think, how many more times? How many people? How many more women? It’s just so horrible.”

This commentary from Williams arrives weeks after Diddy was apprehended in New York on charges including racketeering conspiracy, sex trafficking, and transportation to engage in prostitution. While the rapper and his legal team have categorically denied all allegations, he remains detained at the Metropolitan Detention Center, awaiting his trial scheduled for October 9, 2024.

“He’s a mogul!” — Wendy Williams’ perspective on Diddy’s arrest

Wendy Williams has voiced her criticism of Diddy, also known as Sean Combs, for many years. In a segment on her show in 2015, she discussed his romantic relationships, stating:

“You know, my thing about when you date a mogul, is that it’s really difficult to avoid them because if you use your head, you never know when they’re going to pop up on the scene. He’s a mogul! Like, he can hire a plane right now, zoom it to South Africa, land on the roof of the hotel where she’s staying, pay people off at the front desk, ‘Give me the key and let me up in her room.”

Additionally, Wendy has been openly critical of the rapper, as revealed by Charlamagne Tha God in a May episode of the Fragrant podcast, where he alleged that Diddy had her fired from Hot 97 after she purportedly claimed that Diddy was gay and possessed an intimate photo of him with another man.

There has, however, been no official confirmation from either Wendy Williams or Diddy regarding the claims made by Charlamagne.

For those unfamiliar, in November 2023, Cassie, Diddy’s ex-girlfriend, filed a lawsuit against the rapper, alleging sexual and physical abuse. She claimed that Diddy also forced her into substance abuse and coerced her to perform explicit activities with sex workers while he recorded the incidents.

Though Cassie withdrew her case the following day after reaching an undisclosed settlement, other women have since come forward with similar allegations against the rapper.

While Wendy Williams’ remarks about Diddy have garnered significant media attention, Diddy’s representatives or legal counsel have yet to publicly respond to her statements.

As Diddy remains incarcerated, it’s worth noting that his legal team has submitted a $50 million bail package to the court, which includes a bail bond and the rapper’s passport to demonstrate that he is not a flight risk. However, prosecutors argue that Diddy poses a significant flight risk, leading the judge to deny bail.
