In recent news, Wendy, a member of the popular K-pop group Red Velvet, has officially announced her withdrawal from SM Entertainment’s upcoming 30th anniversary concert, “SMTOWN LIVE 2025 in SEOUL.”

The announcement was made by Melon Ticket, the official online ticketing platform, on January 6. According to their statement, “Red Velvet’s Wendy will not be appearing at SMTOWN LIVE 2025 in SEOUL for personal reasons.”The organizers expressed their sincere apologies for the changes in the lineup, urging customers to reach out to their customer service for fee-free cancellations or refunds due to this development.
Context of the Withdrawal
Wendy’s departure from the event mirrors a similar decision made by Taeyeon of Girls’ Generation, who had previously informed fans of her intention to withdraw during a live stream, before confirming the news via her management team.

The highly anticipated SMTOWN concert is scheduled for January 11 and 12 at the renowned Gocheok Sky Dome in Seoul. The event will feature an impressive lineup of SM Entertainment artists, including:
